It was the era that started it all for me. I was 19 and never cared about Prince before, except for ´When doves cry´. I asked a friend to record something of Prince for me (he was the only fan I knew) and he recorded a tape with Diamonds / Symbol album almost complete. In the beginning, I disliked, but I liked ´Gett off´ a lot because of MTV, so I decided to play the tape until I got there (if it was today, I would have probably saved ´gett off´ and deleted all other MP3 and would never become a Prince fan). I was a metal guy, so falsettos and keys were versy strange to me. But, while the tape was rolling, I started paying attention to how tight that band was, the guitar solos, arrangements, and some songs. After that, I bought The Hits and now I am here

Still love to see Prince as a bandleader of a big, tight band. NPG is still my fave band (Ok, dont care for Tony and Game Boyz). Rosie was great.

And, if I was asked to draw a statue of Prince to be put in a public place, I would draw something of that era, with the yellow clothes and Cloud, even knowing that his Purple Rain image represents him more

And I think Symbol is one of his most underrated albums. Such a great collection of good SONGS, from different genres. Always wonder how things would have been if ´7´ was chosen as the first single. WB was right on that one :/

Divine intervention released "7VEN" when it was suppose to. Ironically it still reached number 7V3N on The Billboard Hot 100.

It's subjective, of course, but I personally think "7" is a standout great song on a spectacular album. From the so, so fine Damn U to the Sacrifice of Victor to fun songs like The Continental and I Wanna Melt With U.
