Do we know what song (can we hear it) did he use finger cymbals on?
Can you post the credit piece where finger cymbals are mentioned? I never read that, I did read/see the use of orchestra bells though.

They are not conveniently inserting themselves. They were there and a part of it. They are not inserting themselves in Prince history where they did not work with him. And they continued to be friends with Prince through his whole life. . Let's please not continue this strain of contention, why can't we enjoy the story and the background of Prince recording Make Your Momma Happy...

EACTLY. They were and are being asked by journalists to share their stories/memories of their time with Prince, as well as, offering up their own speical memories. * ChocolateBox3121 - you act like Susannah is pulling this story out of the air. She's officially credited for singing backround on this track, and Prince tells a story about it in the Crystal Ball liner notes.

I NEVER said that. As I said in the above post. I love her storytelling........ Not sure how one would take your above response, other than it's an implication that Susannah was fabricating a story in order to place her in that moment with Prince. So yes, in fact you were, in a very backhanded way, iimplying that she was lying. Your eariler comment about loving Susannah's stories seemed to me to be nothing other than a way for you to insert yet another story of putting yourself at the scene of yet another celebrity function. Your next few snarky comments pretty much cancelled out any semblance of positivity in your first post. Not too difficult to figure that out * Just to clarify....here are Prince's words about the recording of this song on the CB liner notes: * Make Your Mama Happy - this was recorded after

Countless braggadocio name-dropping. What is your point besides me me me? Do you need that much attention? "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"

Actually, I think you're getting your Toure panels confused. Toure held a panel called "Who is Prince Really?" August, 2014. Susannah and LA Reid were his guests that day.... * * Toure also held another panel to promote his book and to discuss what Prince is really like in person. This also took place in 2013, and his guests were Questlove, Alan Leeds and Danyel Smith..... *
* But, of course I'm sure your reply will state that you attended both panels, met all of the guests, and then attended an after party with the group
* Regarding the CB liner notes - you post as if you were the only one around back when CB was released. I can assure you that I was most certainly around at that time, as I was from the time Prince first appeared on the scene. I posted the liner notes, because based on your comment about Susannah "inserting" herself into Prince's musical history, it seemed clear to me that you had forgotten that Prince himself stated she was present during the recording of the song, so I figured I'd refresh your memory on that piece. * As for Susannah's stories and her having told them more than once - well yeah, duh - she was present and with him during the most prolific and fruitful time of his career, so it is understandable that she would be asked some of the same questions about her time with Prince. She went almost 30 yrs with most fans not knowing that Starfish & Coffee was based on her childhood. So yeah, that information is very interesting to many Prince fans.

You've got to be kidding me, right??? We must be listening to different stories then. Obviously, her words, thoughts and actions are iincluded in those stories, because it is her experience WITH him. She was interacting with him at that time. I love that she 's including extra details like the fact that she made him Constant Comment tea with honey, or that he constantly ate vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. These are the everyday "human" details that he would not share, because he was maintiaing the "mystique" and "otherworldly" persona.

^^^ No really, it's the obsession of constantly trying to eliminate or severely diminish their relationship and/or work with Prince by a handful of posters that is truly the most disturbing.

Until then, comments from the "peanut gallery" negating their stories and memories with him are really just pointless and contain ZERO credibility.

.....and here we go 'round and 'round again. GIVE IT UP palludvig!! * FACT: David Coleman and Jonathan Melvoin recorded THEIR song Around The World In A Day using studio time that Prince had given them. * Princevault.com: The track was first written and recorded by David Coleman (Lisa Coleman's brother) in early June 1984, when given two days of studio time at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California as a birthday gift from Prince. When Prince heard the resulting track, he loved it and wanted to include it on his next album. He re-recorded the track and made some musical and lyrical changes. * FACT: The song heavily featured FINGER CYMBALS, the Oud, the Darbuka, and the Cello * Princevault.com: Recording PersonnelPrince - all vocal and instruments, except where noted

On Prince's first album For You, finger cymbals are list on the song Crazy You. At 1:20min there is 1 ting on the finger cymbals. And that's it. I love that song by the way.

"Make Yo Mamma Happy" is one of my favorite Prince songs. I play it every single day to get pumped up for whatever the day has in store for me. Learning how it was created in her post was fascinating and makes the song even more meaningful.
