What are your thoughts on "Batdance (The Batmix)"? I grew to love this remix. It was done by William Orbit (more known for his association with Madonna).

200 balloons is also in the mix too! I was on a massive batman kick during 89, I was bumping this 12” along with ‘the badman is robbin’ by hijack. | |

At the time of release I remember liking it a lot because it was the first Prince single that got an authentic club remix. | |

This song was a hit back then and people still love it. However, I never understood the appeal. I'm up for mindless fun, but there's nothing about that song that seems uniquely Prince. I'm glad he paid some bills with that song but it's always been a bunch of samples advertising, and now memorializing, the movie. Project-wise, songs like The Future and Partyman.. those songs are great.

I absolutely love this mix. Was blown away by it when it came out - wish it had heralded a new dawn of him working with good outside producers / remixers...
