Yes, why yes it was. I wonder if the people who participated got paid otherwise where did the money go? That thing was such a mess. I tried to get tickets but as soon as they went on sale they were “sold out” only to be found minutes later on stubhub and other places for completely inflated prices. I wish the estate would take Prince: Live on the Big Screen on the road. That was a well put together show. Paisley Park is in your heart

That's why I asked a couple of weeks ago. And something about the attorney not getting paid.

There ain't gonna be that much left if this case drags on for years and years...even with Prince's fortune. I have a friend with his family's money in probate; by the time that's over with, there won't be any thing left... What a fine mess... tickets or merch. So the heirs did get money but the Estate didn't? We understand that all revenues (including merchandise revenues) from the concert went to the concert's producers, who distributed a portion of the revenues to the Heirs. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Wow, the Estate just can't win.
The beleaguered estate of Prince could face further problems, this time from Italy. As previously reported, an Italian court ruled that Prince’s 1994 hit, “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” was plagiarized from a 1983 song by two Italian writers, Bruno Bergonzi and Michele Vicino. That sentence has since been confirmed by Italy’s notoriously slow-moving judiciary and, now that Prince is no longer with us, the composers are keen for the matter to be resolved.
Under the latest ruling, Prince's estate is barred from distributing “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World” in Italy. The sentence must be published, at Prince’s expense, in two Italian national dailies and two specialist music magazines. Bergonzi says that, “This has yet to happen.” Bergonzi and Vicino’s publishers, Warner Chappell Italy, are also required to notify Prince, although this Bergonzi says that “as far as we know, this has likewise yet to happen.” He adds: “The American legal authorities did, we believe, make various attempts to deliver the verdict to Prince’s Paisley Park residence but couldn’t find anyone home!”

Oh brother! Just like a good lawyer excuse...I pretty much think most in the legal system are a bunch of thugs and money-grubbers. Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

That article is from 2016. Comerica hired attorneys in Italy to represent the Estate because I saw it in the billing and Court filings.

Really? It was just on Billboard today. WTH? Why is Billboard showing us something from 2016, today?

Do you think the lawyers are quitting due to fund restrictions or due to the drama or due to Comerica?
It seems odd to quit but I am sure there is a lot going on that is not known to us.

Interesting question, nelcp. I can imagine that being a lawyer involv d with the PRN Estate would probably be very frustrating. Live 4 Love ~ Love is God, God is love, Girls and boys love God above

This is truly a ridiculous case and I can't quite believe that it's dragging on so long. The chorus melody similarity is purely coincidental (well, Prince has the same melody for the verse, of course) - indeed, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World was probably one of the most generic things that Prince ever released (I do happen to love it despite this).

Apparently, Ike Turner's estate has been in litigation for 11 years... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

In all seriousness, two years for a complicated probate case like P's is not that long.

I can see that with the Italian court system, based off the Amanda Knox story.
Hopefully this can be overturned.

The Estate is now filing charges against Dr. S. Maybe just maybe they'll get the others too. See bolded.

The family of the late musician Prince, who died of a fentanyl overdose in 2016, is suing a doctor who the family says failed to treat his addiction and provided him with narcotics without a proper prescription, ABC News has learned. The lawsuit, which was filed in Minnesota district court Friday morning, alleges that Dr. Michael T. Schulenberg, the Twin Cities physician who treated Prince twice in the days prior to his death, failed to properly treat the musician as he was suffering from an opioid addiction. He failed to appropriately evaluate, diagnose, treat and counsel Prince for his recognizable opioid addiction, and further failed to take appropriate and reasonable steps to prevent the foreseeably fatal result of that addiction,” reads the lawsuit, a copy of which can be read below. “These departures from the standard of acceptable medical practice had a substantial part in bringing about Prince’s death.”
According to John Goetz, the attorney who is representing Prince’s family in its ongoing suit against the Illinois hospital that treated Prince days prior to his death, the lawsuit brings the fight for accountability back to the musician’s home state. “Prince lived in Minnesota all his life and passed away here,” Goetz told ABC News. “So we always thought his family's lawsuit belonged in Minnesota.”
According to Goetz, the family intends to eventually dismiss the previous lawsuit filed in Illinois against the hospital, and proceed with this new action in Minnesota, which could itself eventually be expanded to include other parties. “The Minnesota lawsuit is against all parties whom we now believe share legal responsibility for Prince's death,” Goetz said. “But it is possible that we will identify and add other parties as we move forward with the case.”

So Prince asked for help from Dr. S. And he didn’t provide it? I mean you can’t force treatment on someone. The current Administration wants the death penalty for fentanyl dealers. Good. Paisley Park is in your heart
