Feeluup, you haven't read my post, i said that DISC 2 was not planned before his death. The decision to release those songs was made after his death as he had previously refused to provide them. So you can't really call it a planned release.

Yes I know disc 2 was not planned before his death. I was talking about the pr remaster that prince provided wb in 2015, i already said he didn't include any extra songs...

Someone call Baby Jessica because the ’80s are back! This summer, the Prince Estate decided to posthumously release some of Prince’s unheard live tracks in a new album titled “Piano & A Microphone 1983.” While the new album will be available in its entirety Sept. 21, one of the singles, “17 Days,” has already been released. Another single from the new album was also released, “Mary Don’t You Weep,” which appears in the new movie “BlacKkKlansman.” “17 Days,” while originally a track on Prince’s 1984 album “Purple Rain,” is now a live recording, featuring solely Prince’s vocals while he plays a piano, just as the title of the soon-to-be released album suggests. This live, unedited version adds a new wave of passion from Prince into this old song and provides a new depth to the style of Prince’s music: more soul and more emphasis on the vocals. The song even includes a solid minute of The Purple One scatting and playing the piano, an unusual style for his music. Providing a less poppy and more heartfelt rendition than the original, “17 Days” is just the piece to listen to for some Prince nostalgia.

As the estate sorts through the musical riches, expect plenty of unreleased rarities like “Piano & a Microphone 1983,” a collection of nine tracks Prince recorded alone on cassette at his Minnesota home studio. Is there any info when this was recorded? It's not mentioned in Duane's book and the closest I've seen to a time frame is 'some time in the spring of 1983'?

I mean it's very difficult to say, frankly, what Prince's intentions were on some of these things, although I can tell you that within the very small group of people who are contemplating what might emerge and making decisions about what actually will see the light of day, I'm very, very, very cognisant and respectful of the spirit of the endeavour. Meaning we tried to take what we think Prince would direct us to do with the most seriousness possible. I mean, it's not something that we just quickly put together and say, 'We love this, we're going to put it out.'
