PennyPurple said: And what is the annual salary of a doctor?

I don't know Paul. Look it up.

Michael Jackson's lawyer made $300,000 for TWO month! eek I went into the wrong field!!!

An AEG finance executive Thursday verified a 2009 company budget that allotted $300,000 to be paid to Dr. Conrad Murray for two months of caring for Michael Jackson.

Julie Hollander, vice president/controller of event operations for AEG Live, testified in the wrongful death trial that Murray’s salary of $150,000 each for the months of May and June that year was included in a budget approved by executive Paul Gongaware.

Prince was far from poor, but I don't think he could have afforded such expenses.
The wooh is on the one!

...And there wouldn't be a fentanyl problem, had he obtained the legal pills with a legal script.

Penny, I know you have a hard time understanding why he didn't go to the doctor for his pain management, if that was what was going on with him. I've tried to explain why people don't always go that route. It could be that he didn't trust doctors, felt like he didn't have time to go to a doctor, or even have a doctor recommend physical therapy and Prince felt like he didn't have time for that so it was a waste of time to go back to a doctor.

It is harder and harder for patients with pain to get prescriptions to pain medications. If you go to the ER, many times they see you as "drug seeking" and will tell you to follow up with your regular doctor. Prince did not keep "regular doctor hours". And he would often go on tour and be gone for a long period of time, going from city to city, country to country. A regular doctor is not going to just call you in a prescription of narcotics without seeing you, legally they can't do that, and it wasn't always feasible for Prince to hop a plane and fly back to Minne to see his doctor when he would have back to back concerts scheduled. It's probably one of the reasons M.J. had a doctor on staff. So, if Prince were on tour, he'd have to see the venue doctors. Many doctors are not going to prescribe opioids if they cannot follow up with you, or if they don't know if you are going to follow up with your regular physician. For Prince, the easiest route would have been just to get his bandmembers or others in his camp, to get medicine from their doctors, because they had regular doctors, or to order what he needed online, or find some other means to get it. Prince was a stubborn man who always had to be in control and always felt like he knew best. Even when he finallly saw Dr. S it was afterhours and Dr. S had to open his office just for Prince.

I hadn't thought about that before, how difficult it would be for a star to go see a doctor during regular hours. In L.A., I'm sure there are doctors that make a habit of having after hours reserved for their star clientele, or that strictly work with stars. In Minneapolis, not so much.

And you've mentioned, "A normal person would go to the doctor if they are in pain." Prince wasn't a normal person. I mean, he told his personal assistant to get him a camel for a video shoot in the middle of the night. He didn't understand why that would be impossible at that time of night.

And yet, he had a chiropractor on call who would come to PP, he'd have his people set up appointments with doctors all the time while on tour, and would even fly a doctor in from Minneapolis to wherever he was on tour. And a doctor did prescribe him pain pills 2 weeks after seeing him for the first time (not having done any blood work) and even illegally put the script in someone else's name.
P was not a moron...He did what he did for a reason. Nobody "likes" going to the doctor, he didn't go because he felt he could handle this stuff on his own. Not having time is just an excuse.

I would like to make a request. It would save so much time and energy if everyone read the investigative reports. They are online and though lengthy, can be absorbed fairly quickly.

We can then be up-to-date on what the facts are.

It is so frustrating discussing some of these issues with those that have clearly not read the reports.

I find that some just jump into this thread and start arguing without enough background.

I was exhausted after yesterday as I am sure Penny is.

Please!

Agreed.

The problem arises because, with all due respect, many of these posters only joined prince.org after Prince's death and were only very casual fans prior to that, if at all. They simply lack awareness of his character and history.

For example, nobody who actually saw Prince live at a venue (not recordings or TV appearances on YouTube) and then performing non-obligatory extended aftershows would give any credence to the allegation that Prince suffered from 'stage fright'.

Someone simply doesn't play unnecessarily for hours at 2am to small crowds in nightclubs (and often with a very reasonable cover price) if they're anxious about performing. It's not as if cash was a major influence either - in London in 2014 he played several small clubs for just £10. I was fortunate enough to have been at two of those (including the Shepherd's Bush show) and it's likely he barely broke even in terms of costs.

And that's not even considering the number of times he opened his home for shows at short notice, when he had nothing to promote whatsoever.

Really, that's where the problem arises? I must have missed the memo that said if you are a fan of P, you must join prince.org, or you're just a casual fan at best. Prince fan-snobbery...I love it. If you believe the whole of P fans are on this site, then you believe his fan base is quite small.
To your second point, he was able to do all that because he was probably on drugs!!!

No, the problem arises when old posters get pissed because new posters post what they don't like. If you don't like what a poster writes, you look at their join date and then 1. Accuse them of not being a hardcore fan. 2. Accuse them of having double accounts.

But if you agree with a poster such as Benni, you don't say anything about her join date of 04/17.

Get over what Dr. D said about the stagefright, stagefright or not, Prince died because he took a counterfeit pill. Associates have even came forward and said he was on pills, he had a pill problem. It's in the documents, read them.

And you can knock off the snark and quit acting butthurt over every comment that doesn’t agree with your Price Was Pathetic agenda. There might actually be a decent discussion here if you learn how to be a PART of the discussion and quit pretending all comments must pass your arrogant stance. Just be quiet sometimes you might learn something.

Ha, if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black!

When did Penny say that Prince was pathetic? neutral So you're done with Cat and now you claim Penny has an agenda? Looks like YOU have a problem with people's opinions, inputs, whatever and if they don't fit your narrative about Prince, or Mayte or whoever, people have to have an agenda against these people.

Yes, people have def joined this thread late in the game to start drama. They didn't like what Cat had to say, so they chased her off, and Cat knew him personally. They are trying to do the same with me. Even though I've been very vocal on this thread since part 1 and have tried to answer peoples questions by referring to the documents, even going as far as giving the zip file, page number, item number so they can see for themselves. I agree. I was wondering where all these uninformed posters were coming from yesterday.

It is really obvious most are in the dark re: the files, which are facts.

I have to say, Penny, you have spent hours of your own time keeping this thread together. It is a labor of love. There are many who support you and I am sure it is exhausting.

If these fans are so interested in Prince, why can't they be bothered to do the work of reading the files and previous threads??

And yet not one person who keeps bringing up that narrative has addressed how an addict goes from fentanyl back down to hydro. A lie is a lie is a lie. It does get annoying when someone new comes in and keeps trying to push an obvious lie to center stage with absolutely no reasonable explanation but then get argumentative with people who've obviously been actively supportive long before now, no way that person's really a fan regardless how many times they say it. Most people who were fans but not on the org wouldn't have jumped on it after he died to keep pushing a lie. Weirdos would but not a real fan. If you not lying just to lie then back your reasons up with sources that makes sense instead of going all ballistic and throwing a tantrum or throwing in how sad you are. That used to be an unspoken rule in these parts. Now it's just "I have the right to say what I want" which is the biggest cop out ever. See this is what is meant. Only the mods can throw someone off here. It's literally impossible to run someone off. But someone who wants center stage by telling lies who starts feeling pressured to prove what's coming out of their mouth might run off. A those who want to hear the lies have the big wide cyberspace to gather and exchange all the lies they want. But to expect those who have zero interest in somebody's lying self esteem, speaks fake as heck. Nobody owes you room to lie.

If you're a real fan act like one, and crying every 5 seconds ain't cutting it. [Edited 8/5/18 9:15am]

Who are you addressing that to?

Do your own homework. We are not going to "spoon-feed" you. You have not read the files or threads. After reading them, you may have answered your own questions.

It's your job as a responsible poster to back up what you say. And its the right of others in the thread to expect you to. If you dont then theybhave every right to call you a liar.

If you're one of the ones that keep supporting that theory then it was directed at you, if not then it wasn't for you.

Please!

I'm sure some of you are exhausted spending so much time posting from multiple accounts, practically having a conversation with yourself in order to validate your theory that Prince was a long time drug addict who had no legitimate reasons for medicating.

No one should let a troll chase them off, and I hope Cat comes back. His homework assignment should keep him busy, and when he's done, if he still can't play nice, we may have to resort to drastic measures.

Wait a minute...didn't you just join the org. last week? And the only way someone can tell a lie is if they knew something for a fact, which most of us do not, INCLUDING YOU. So before you go calling someone a liar, you may want to look up the word "speculation".
I sense a bit of instability when I read your unnecessary rants, so I will save you some time and lessen your stress by refraining from responding to you, that way you won't have to pull anymore nonsense out of your booty!
Peace

benni

Here is someone high on Fentanyl (as given to him in the hospital). And y'all want to say that this is how Prince spent his time.

And here is a documentary on Fentanyl users who state that once you become addicted to it, all you care about is getting your next fix and you end up losing everything.

I take full responsibility for every single thing I post. It aint about the timestamp its about how real you are. If all you are is a whining weirdo then expect to be treated as one by those who hangout here. Feel free to never respond to me again won't stop me from calling a liar a liar. You have no more power than I do to run anyone off so no skin off my nose.

Do you have someone in mind when you talk about the multiple accounts? Who ever said P did not have a legitimate reason (at least in his own mind) for medicating?.
But let's put this in perspective...again. You don't know anymore than the rest of us, so can we just accept that everyone has the right to their own opinions and may voice that opinion without fear of being called a liar, annoying or anything else for that matter? (This last part is not being directed at you, Paul).

What exactly is being “investigated” here? Is it: was it murder, suicide, or accidental overdose?

Talking about “I don’t understand this or I don’t understand that” is not an investigation, but I guess it can be a form of therapy if you get enough people to state they also wonder these things.

Maybe they would let you have a thread where feelings can be discussed because the official files can’t be disputed or changed.

A legitimate reason would be physical pain. Some of you seem to think that pain was not an issue in this case.
Good point about opinions.
