It's from Graffiti Bridge. His letter to his movie dad who "took the easy way out" (as in suicide). The theme that already showed up in Purple Rain.

Why the need to point out it isn’t a fresh discovery? Orgers can be such funny people. |

It's a prop from Graffiti Bridge - not a real letter from Prince to his dad. The other page is from the scene where he's playing Hangman with Aura. |

The only answer anyone needs.
This shit ain't that deep, y'all. It's a movie prop. The text is contextual to Purple Rain. That simple.
I'm surprised someone hasn't started a thread about preserved food in Mason jars from Purple Rain and that it's some sort of symbolic slam at this mother or something equally insane.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Well? This is what I want to know. Is it in fact contextual to PR? And if so, how? How is it that things didn’t work out as P had hoped? I think it’s relevent to ask, and if anyone knows more, which I doubt we really do, I say let that man or woman speak. |

What's wrong? purplethunder3121 seemed surprised and never have seemed to have seen the picture. And I said it's been on the web for some time as in "Anybody can find it".

So you can call them funny people for replying?

Why the need to point out it isn’t a fresh discovery? Orgers can be such funny people. We point it out only because after 20 years things weren’t redundant until April 2016. This used to be where new news was shared. Now it’s just people trying to find something new...which I can assure you rarely happens. |

Mashed potatoes. Passed peas. Jam Of the Year. I'm out.
If you don't have the movie at hand, put on GB the album. It starts with it.

Of course it's a prop and not an actual letter, but why make suicide a theme in the movie. Oh.. I forgot. Nothing Prince did was deep (apart from the cases were he stole the ideas of those profound thinkers in the Rev). Prince could play a little guitar. That's about it. The wooh is on the one! |

Of course you're right. That's why the Revolution couldn't do anything, apart or together, at a level that people actually cared, until after Prince died. That's OK, though. They waited 32 years. They still have some time left. I'm sure they have 32 years of "profound ideas" to work with, eh? Oh no, wait, they're just doing Prince songs now... [Edited 7/22/18 14:23pm] |
