Why do you think he has not been included yet when Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Michael Jackson and even young folks like Taylor Swift are included??? Is it political?

Because Lisa and Wendy wrote everything. But seriously, folks gonna have to get over him not being a part of every award system out there at this time.

Please. really, he wrote too many songs for himself and others to not be on that list *even if you take out the songs that might have been co-written to some extent.. Its not like its a list best bass players or something. Don't be a hater.

Please, tell me why a fan wouldn't want him to be on that list? Even if they had to oblige that certain hits were co-written and do some research. The man who work When Doves Cry, the Beautiful Ones, If you were mine, NOthing COmpares 2 u, Manic Monday, Darling Nikki, I feel for you, Little Red Corvette, 1999, Sign of the times, If I were your girlfriend, Insatitiable, Seven, Theives in the Temple, the question of u and several others songs that do not contain questionable credits should probably be included on a list that has many of his contempories. Jimmy and Terry, Michael Jackson and Madonna being on that list and not prince is like a slap in the face.

Probably the same reason that it took Rush so long to get into the RNR Hall of Fame but Madonna went right in, because they are meaningless arbitrary institutions that have little relevance

It's not political. It's because he was so much more than just some songwriter.

People don't think of MJ and Madonna as songwriters normally either --because their fans think they were "so much more". I have to think there are politics or technicalities keeping PRince out.

It's not political. It's because he was so much more than just some songwriter.

Nobody's ever said he won't get in. He may just need to wait a while. While many fans like me believe he should have been in yesterday, his legacy is secure. A SHOF induction will be even more icing on a pretty large cake.

Why is this one not a big one to discuss? I can see people telling me to get over him being excluded from sexy lists, or best keyboardist lists,or bass player lists or dancer lists or fashion lists etc. But being excluded from songwriter lists when he wrote so many songs for himself and others? Is he not a good songwriter in your estimation? Should we not want him to get the same respect that is givento "songwriters" like Madonna? There was a petition put out months ago over this very issue but three people on his fan page are saying I should get over it. I can't say I understand that. I would think guitar playing and songwriter lists are worth a damn. Were you all telling Susannah on this page to get over the fact that her sister wasn't included on a female guitar player list? Plus, I was asking "WHY" they think he was excluded. No one had an answer or even a theory. I am not losing sleep over it but I thought it would be an interesting thing to talk about.

not true. I am just disappointed when people "talk" down to me-- treat me like an irrational fan because I think this particular award should go to the man. I never said he should win every award.

I have wondered the same. He was at times so witty, intimate, street, cool, insightful, passionate, audacious etc, etc. He was a supremely talented lyricist. Why hasn't he been included?
