pink cashmere - guitar set up for the solo i love the guitar sound for his solo. does anyone know the guitar, pickups and pedals he would have used to get this sound. its the same sound he used in dear michaelangelo by sheila e, i wish you heaven and other songs.

In general for amps for overdrive he would use Mesa boogies . Emg pickups . Bit of reverb, delay , compression and chorus.

It kinda reminds me of the Time Waits for No-one solo. Sounds like bridge pickup, rolled back on the tone, with some drive, delay and compression.

first time i heared it is on dear michaelangelo(the demo by prince). ive read about the boss pedals setup, amps and pickups. i dont know what gives each note that distinct 'chug' sound, its a processed sound so its a mixture of things i suppose.

still trying to find out what setup he had for that sound(not the live boss pedal setup).
ive had a reply from another orger who knows what it is but is not telling me as he/she wants to keep it a secret! oh well, dont share knowledge, well i wont ask any questions. if everybody thought like that this board would die. why bother telling me that they know but are not sharing the knowledge?
if anyone knows, could you help me out. cant get anywhere near the sound he gets. ive got loads of pedals and effects, a few guitars and amps. not heard anyone on record sound like that. (not like the linn drum detuned rim shot, where you hear it on the odd reggae song).
