I was at a hip hop website called Boxden.com and in its "Hip Hop Section" message board, there's a thread about Prince's genius with the song "I'm Yours" embedded. The comments from many of the people, many of them weren't even born when Musicology came out are interesting because many of them aren't use to music production being original let alone a singer-songwriter and musician writing a composition and recording on analog equipment the music with real instruments. I was listening to "U Know" from Art Official Age and that song is modern yet seductive and funky, Prince was the hybrid of the tradition of funk, rock, blues and gospel and contemporary music-hip hop, electronica etc. It's a shame that it took his death for younger people to see what we all saw.
