Prince would stumble a few more times after this when trying to deal directly to the fans. First year of NPGMC was perfect but he decided to switch it up the second year and offer cd's instead of downloads and promised if I remember correctly 4 albums of new material. When we essentially only got two releases with one being a box set but also being live recordings of previously released material fans weren't happy. So to make it up to fans he hastily released Xpectation download and C-NOTE. Then it happened again with the Lotus Flower website but by then it seemed some fans had learned a lesson to patiently wait to see if he would deliver what he promised before joining. Its a pity he didnt have more help with his dispatch and distribution. A creative thinker could have easily set systems in place to deliver in timely fashion... I would have loved for him to have been able to continue his direct to market sales. He was way way ahead of the times,

Thank you as usual LATiN.. Yes, I agree but Prince's mind couldn't really work in the restraints of a deadline or for a certain promise to be made because he changed his mind so frequently. He might be feeling something one day and completely change his mind the very next day. I was so excited for the second year of NPGMC that we were going to be getting 4 new albums delivered to our doors all in one year. It seemed to be what Prince and the fans always wanted. It would have been a dream come true. This is how the estate should do it if they ever get things in order. Love41Another 💜 | |
