do jw's tithe? meaning ten percent? I'm sure that was a motive for them, yes. I think the common JW's wouldn't care about that but the higher up you go the more corrupt it is, . I still say, inspite of their rep, i've always liked the ones i've met.

. I love God. I am humble. God knows we are not perfect and we are all sinners. I do my best not to judge other's and try to put myself in their shoes and show empathy and compassion to other's. God see's everything we do. I'm just pointing out that a lot of Christian people are twisted, and they can be some of the most judgmental people you will ever meet. . For instance, my husband once worked under a man who was a Christian. And, this man lied to his face repeatedly and ultimately was responsible for my husband losing his job, because he felt he was better than my husband and superior. I say this....THAT is not the Christian way, and that is NOT the way of the Lord. . I love God and I love my neighbors, but I cannot make them love me back. I have some of the worst neighbors who are rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate and just not nice people at all. This is why I have to move from where I am currently living because my neighbors are making my life miserable. . At the end of the day, God knows my heart and I know he loves me. God tells us we should be humble, but I see so many people around me who are not humble--they act entitled and feel they are owed the world. . Just my 2-cents.

. It kind of surprises me that Prince would want to be a JW, because the JW is a large organization that is basically run like a corporation. Prince did not like the elite corporate types.

. Because Prince was a man of God, and he used to post religious stuff on his twitter and IG quite often, so I don't think it's off-topic. It's about Prince.

. Yes, but then that would be you judging them, right? I just feel that someone calling themselves a "christian" is simply not enough........it takes living, walking, breathing, loving, caring and acting in a "christian" way. . Being a Christian is not thinking "Okay, I love God, so I can get away with doing bad things, because God will forgive me.".......No, you must do right by God, and he will know if you are trying to trick him.

i guess, when people have to tell you what they are, it gets on my nerves really. feminist, christian, gay, whatever, i don't really care. But Christians, when a person makes it a point of telling you that, you know there is a good chance they are trying to cover something up.

I think you're right. - Another thing. The Rainbow Children got him up there again, somehow. Certainly musically. But the deep message wasn't quite well accepted by most fans, certainly not by the wider audiences. It was a bit too much babbling and (wrong) preaching even. I remember the whole mysogenist remarks and debates about it here on the .org and else where. It could've been a way of him to 'try' and get us involved, or have himself some therapy. Could be. Thing is, after that album, the whole religeous smoke dissapeared somehow a bit to the background in his output. He had to make that album. But changes kindof drastically after that. IMHO of course. - What also could be is this; religion should basically always be a private matter, just like one's sexuality. (I don't care if you fuck IKEA furniture or an ET.) You can brag about religion (don't spread it = only $ related, always!), but you can't rub it into my face, no one's face. So maybe Prince got more mature and found out it's better to celebrate his believes in private, with the ones where he feels recognised for that matter. Not pushing it up our... no, down our throats, the audience. Could be also. - I have no truth in this. But it's interesting. ya, but some religions tell their adherents to proselytize, just the way they are. I'm not particularly religious, but i mention that i pray to just about everyone and i'm not ashamed of sounded backwards or superstitious.

. I agree. I don't tell people I am christian. I mean, if they want to talk about God, that is fine, but I don't walk around preaching. I feel the same way about gays. I mean, if you are Gay, then okay, but to make a point to tell people? That's just weird, imo. . I went to a company Christmas party and one of the guy's wives was talking to me, and out of the blue she goes "Do you go to church?"

. I regard myself as both a religious and spiritual person, which is very rare. Prince was the same way. I think it's totally fine to be both. I love God and I love Buddha--I feel that anything that is giving you peace and solitude is a positive energy, and it's a loving energy, and God is Love. . I love both--call me weird. I don't mind.

Oh, I believe in love. It's the only thing that will ever survive. I believe in the goodness of human kind. As long as everyone get (free) education, and the chance to be loved and get develloped. That's my (our) truth. All the rest will be guided by your character and the way you handle it (not god). Love is all, Prince knew that. And he looked for love in wherever he could find it. May it be religion or women, or music, that's crystal clear. That's why i like him so much. The fact that he was so in awe with religion is something i kind of took with it, skipped a lot, and thought, well, he just needs love, like we all do. Let him go ahead and preach (but not too much). It's the music as a whole that counts, right ? I like everyone else loved and admired the melange of sex and religion. certainly at the time when it was quite incomprehensive and controversial (80's) for the masses. But it appealed to a lot of people aparently. I remember Prince once stating in an interview that sex was for him a way to get closer to god (really?); when he came, he wàs/felt closer to god. Interesting i thought, weird as well, but hey, with a juicy funk tune over all that talking, it was super fun and a new way of looking at things. Crazy Prince. - I was born in a religeous environment. From what i saw, and heard, the abuse and wrong use of power... all in the name of god. Fuck it. (I was abused. But i grew out of it and became a strong and positive loving and caretaking person.) Buddhists lately are in some places more violent than others. Anyway, nothing to with religion but with 'people' acting intolerant. And like we all, Prince became more mature. I remember somehow, because of jehova rules, he disliked the homosexuality of Wendy. Thankfully he got back on that one after a while. Proof. How many gay people must've been around in P's camp all the time? Think about it. - I like it that you care for more than 1 religion. Some god and/or buddha (i don't use capitals). As long as it makes one happy and positive, i'm in peace with it. And no, you'r enot weird, you sound very sane. - One more thing, if ever just once someone askes me without even knowing me, first thing, if I go to church? I say thank you, turn around and walk off. As if this very first kind of question is important to put me in a box, to like or don't like me, without even knowing who I am as a human being. No prejudice please. May we all live in peace and purple, just like Prince tried to do.

. Thanks for not thinking I am weird, but it's okay to be weird and different too! . I think Prince evolved and became a better person. I think he was turning away more from the JW faith and more into spirituality, because that is where he found calmness and peace. We should all feel happy knowing he found peace.

So right! Man looks at the outisde person; God sees into the heart. Lots of persons professing to be a follower of Christ will not be able to attain heaven. Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

. Exactly! God knows if there is love or evil in your heart. You can not fool him. I know people who go to church on Sunday, and they are the most sinister people you can imagine -- they are "fake", "posers" who profess they love God, but do not follow the way of the Lord. Well, there are "wolves in sheeps' clothing" in any formal group involving human beings, be it a church or otherwise. I remember Prince saying at a concert: "Why don't we celebrate our similarities and not our differences." The essence of what he said stuck with me... I will never ever understand religeous people, or christians, or believers and beliebers. All religions are responsible for millions and billions of dead humans. Possibly animals too. And it always has been about money and power, and keeping the poor hushed and satisfied, and the women powerless, by spreading only fear. - We all do good and bad. believers or otherwise. Me too. It's called 'nature and evolution', evolving towards something not quite clear, then dissapearing even from time to time (hopefully), and then starting the whole bloody cyclus again. Yes bloody, cause we will never ever learn. So be it. But I do believe in the goodness of the animals called humans, if they only should keep trying, and not make weapons for instance. (Billions of years ago there were possibly other 'earths' that extincted themselves too. Nothing ever remains.) We're all just what we are, a big meaningless pile of chemistry that goes on and on, and then vanishes. - Only judge yourself, never ever others. First 'like' yourself the way you are, and then you can love and like others. We all know that being kind and caretaking pays ! Otherwise not. Everyone's live balances between that. It's like all animals do. And so do we. - Mankind made that one silly bearded old man sitting on a cloud, and funny enough its never ever been a woman or a genderless 'something'. Also this whole crazy shit was invented a few thousand years ago, somewhere in a very hot and sandy faraway central-eastern region, not very much to do with 'us' right here and now. And men ruled the world, those poor creatures still do , all trying to survive, having more questions than answers, and there's nothing wrong with that. (Oh, and that by mankind created bearded fella up there wanted a son and not a daughter, not even a genderless person, or maybe a goat, or a fly, or a cute snake or an intelligent fish or bug.) I say that women are the best evolved and develloped creatures in the world. Men are hopeless. - But, I do respect the believers as long as it remains a personal matter, preferably a private matter even. I will never even judge a person for believing. Who am I ? But I will stand up in a never ending discussion to defend us animals from unscientific stories based on... well nothing actually. So help me nature. - And I love it when someone tells me they will pray for me. I respect that. I will certainly and respectfully think about them too and wish them/us all the best during these wonderful meaningless lives of us creatures.

I was reading some of Prince's old tweets, and it was quite obvious that there was something troubling him in the days before his death. . http://prince.org/msg/7/423374 . DESPITE INFLUENZA, THIS PLANET IS PRICELESS! . "I Am Transformed" . "There's so much instability on the planet now, I don't believe in it anymore. How many people can/can't get along? Even if it's ... something.. we need to study to perfect it... I beieve we can get it on.… . "waiting in vain" . .

I had to learn the hard way that what people say and what they do are often opposite things so I focus more on what they do and not so much on what they say in general. The man talking of the virtues of humility is most likely having a crisis with that himself the man who preaches forgiveness is trying to convince himself not you. That's what I've seen and learned the hard way. There's a video of Jim Jones' son on youtube right after the jonestown tragedy, he's known to be one of the few people to openly question his father and he was saying here how his father always preached against egoism and he "was the most egotistical man I ever knew" I understood exactly what he was saying.

flu was a coverrup for whatever was really going on. celebs try to say exhaustion, dehydration or some other bullshit as a smokescreen when they really have personal issues they don't want people knowing about. Prince had colds and flu's many times throughout the years, he rarely was stopped by those sorts of things.

. I agree; I think he used the "flu" to keep the media from running amok. I remember reading an interview with Wendy, and she said that Prince often would use the "flu" as an excuse when he wanted to get out of something, i.e, an event or appearance.
