ATWIAD cover observation

So I was looking at the Around the World In A Day album cover and I noticed that the multi-coloured mountain range behind all the characters is in fact a woman lying down, from breast right hand side (above the singer with the microphone) to the shin, left hand side (where the eldlerly woman is crying). The left mountain peak is her knee.

The ladder ascends to the heavens / clouds going above her womb.

Apologies if this has been posted before.

It's interesting, I wonder what input Prince had into it all.

The Earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.

He spoke to the artist(s) about what imagery he wanted in the painting(s)

Yeah the female mountain is pretty well known

I want more information on this piece though

Read these threads. Then check this one: http://prince.org/msg/7/416489

There is a lot behind the cover, including the original painting, plus Polaroids of the painter for the second (and current) cover of Sheila E., Susannah, Wendy, and the painter himself in poses that he used as a guide for the figures on the cover. Also, photos of Clara Bow, the actress, were used for a figure on there. All that is behind the link I included.

But yes, we knew about the reclining woman/mountain. The cover is full of easter eggs. Almost every song, in some fashion, is represented on the cover, as well as specific lyrics. The girl on the see-saw, a tambourine, the woman who is alone by the pier whose husband caused her to many tears, America (and a black child waving the flag of a country who'd rather put him in a zoo - that's a personal editorial note), the ladder, temptation (I think the Sheila E. image represents that), Clara Bow (from "Condition of the Heart" is recreated). In fact, most of the image as a whole could be construed as the utopic version of Paisley Park.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I don't know if having been a teenager at the time had anything to do with, but the mountains looking like a naked woman was obvious to me on the first glance.
