First time you saw prince? I believe the first time I ever saw prince was when I was 15 on top of the pops in 1995 in the most beautiful girl in the world video I'd heard about him before mainly the rib removal rumour (by the way who started that?)lol. A few years later I heard pop life on the radio didnt know who it was, found out became hooked. [Edited 1/3/18 16:59pm] I'm just like everybody else I need love.....and water.

The first time I remember being aware of who Prince was was when I saw the Lovesexy album in a shop. I was 13, deeply religious and struggling with my sexuality, so I instantly decided that I hated him. By the end of the year all of the above was starting to change, and soon after I started a love affair with that weird looking little manI had seen naked in a shop that has lasted 28 years and counting!

Man, I don't know. I recall, at least seeing I think it was the Gett Off video when I was lil n having a weird dream about him throwing feces or some shit (hey, a play on words ). It might have been the Whatta Man video, like I said For all time I am with you, you are with me.

The first time I saw P was on MTV in late 82 or early 83. We had just gotten cable, and LRC was in heavy rotation. Loved his look, loved his dance moves, loved the song, and loved the film quality video. I was hooked from that point on! [Edited 1/3/18 17:45pm]

Probably the LRC video. Never liked the song . Once purple rain hit it all changed & I worked my way back to Controversy. I had to wait until 93 to see him live & made up for lost time.

I actually don't remember the first time I "saw" Prince, but I do remember the first time I heard his music. I was in a club back in '82 and a song was thumping. I couldn't help but listen to the lyrics as they were nothing like I'd heard before . The song was Do Me Baby. I fell in love with it and Prince right then and there.

I vaguely remember seeing something about Purple Rain on TV in the mid-eighties but I was deeply into Michael Jackson during that time so I didn't pay any attention to it. Later I really liked 2 songs (America and Tambourine) and noticed the ATWIAD album cover that leaned against the hi-fi systems at dance class... Although I didn't realise that was by Prince until I became a fan a year or so later. Life Matters

It's funny given how important he'd become to me but I honestly have no idea. I think I knew the Lovesexy cover before I bought my first album (Batman) so it might be it. If not that, probably the Batdance music vid then. I don't think it could have been anything else, though I may have come across a music video much earlier, or seen a record at the record store, or an article in a magazine and remember nothing of it. I vaguely knew he existed before I bought Batman, and I was familiar with several songs without knowing it was him, but that's pretty much all I knew. So IDK. 1988-89 was 15 lifetimes ago... The first time I actually saw him as in a picture was at CW Dean's record store, just a couple of blocks from my house. I fell in love, once I matched the song I heard on the radio "Soft & Wet" to that picture, I was all of 13yo.

The first time I saw him was on Saturday Night Live back in the early eighties when I was a little kid staying up too late. But it wasn't until the release of Purple Rain when I was 13 that he became forever a part of My life.

SEEN seen? I'm pretty sure it was the strange album cover is seen in my Aunt's lp collection (*she married and left the family and also left her 70's mostly commercial albums) Flipping through the BEE GEES and Andy Gibb....i saw that strange self titled album cover and the back cover as well. ..the horse /unicorn and naked guy. LIVE: I finally got around to affording tickets after missing him (finance; i was in high school and not allowed to get a job by restrictive family) at the Kodak. I saw the opening night of his show at STAPLES CENTER...on his MUSICOLOGY TOUR. I'm not certain how we got there. It might have been in my ex guitarists beater car with one side mirror. I have my ticket away to the dude although i wanted to go with someone else. I was stoked and amazed, but also upset with the sound at STAPLES thankfully the acoustic set was immaculate. It created my distaste for concerts at STAPLES ♫"Trollin, Trolling! We could have fun just trollin'!"♫

First time I saw Prince was in early 80's. I was watching Solid Gold on TV and Prince performed Little Red Corvette. I remember I knew the song from the radio but did not know who sang the song. I remember just being mesmerized by this beautiful man on stage

The first time I saw Prince, it wasn't Prince, it was the Paisley Park video and I thought a dude pushing kids on the swings was Prince (It was an extra). A few months after this (Early 85 - Aug 85) I saw the Raspberry Beret video with him in the Cloud suit and thought, yeah pretty weird, but the song is cool. . I was 9 and I liked the song, but it was just a song and I was hardly going to change my life over it - MJ was still number one in my eyes with Madonna and Wham! back then. . It took a video with him humping girls on stage, forcing a guitar head towards his ass and mincing around the stage in a catsuit for me to become a fan 6 years later Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

The first time I saw Prince is when MTV came ourt back in 1983. I was 10. The moment that 10. The moment that I saw him. I did not realize that I had stoppped eating my lunch. Until I felt a very hard tap on my right shoulder. The song was 1999.

I'm pretty sure it was the 1999 clip which I saw on tv. I remember I was intrigued but probably found him a bit mysterious and strange. I was only 12 years old. I also remember seeing the Vanity 6, Nasty girl clip. I'm a big fan since Sign O The Times. My first live concert experience was in 1992.

I remember seeing Prince for the 1st time when his 1999 video aired on MTV, Dec 1982. I was 9. I remember being mesmerized by his voice, his look, his eyes, the band and the song. The whole vibe was so cool, so funky but also so rock n roll. I was hooked. With a friend's help who also got into Prince we got the Controversy and 1999 albums. Ah, the good ol' dayz.
(Edited to add live info): Forgot to add first time I saw Prince in concert was during the Act I tour in '93. Became hooked all over again. I am so envious of anyone that saw him live during the Lovesexy and Nude tours. Or any of the early tours really. 😉 [Edited 1/7/18 21:22pm] "A strong spirit transcends rules." - Prince

1984 - Little Red Corvette on MTV. My initial experience seeing him wasn't pleasant. I saw him come on TV and was just drawn to him. Loved his look, sound, and remember walking closer to the TV set to see him closer. As I was walking closer, I said, "Now, that is one sexy man." My ex-husband was extremely racist, though I never knew how racist until this moment. I found myself on the floor with my ex standing over and calling me a very foul name. I became a closet fan until 1998. When he came on TV, or the radio, if my ex was around, I'd change the station or ignore it, if he wasn't around, I was watching/listening to him closely.

i think it was vh1 actually...it was cream...his opening guitar sucked me in then his eyes his energy his moves with the guitar...may 10 year old vauge understanding that he was talking about confidence and getting it on. My first thought was he was just being real with himself and I liked that. Personally I had a crush on a little guy in 5th grade that was Prince like...it reminded me of my crush the vibes of first love.

The first time I saw him was on Music Box a belgian(?) music show with the Controversy video in 1981. After that I bought the 12 inch single and later the album from my allowance and became a fan ever since.
