I believe the first time I ever saw prince was when I was 15 on top of the pops in 1995 in the most beautiful girl in the world video I'd heard about him before mainly the rib removal rumour (by the way who started that?)lol. A few years later I heard pop life on the radio didnt know who it was, found out became hooked.

I vaguely remember seeing something about Purple Rain on TV in the mid-eighties but I was deeply into Michael Jackson during that time so I didn't pay any attention to it. Although I didn't realise that was by Prince until I became a fan a year or so later.

It's funny given how important he'd become to me but I honestly have no idea. I think I knew the Lovesexy cover before I bought my first album (Batman) so it might be it. If not that, probably the Batdance music vid then.

I don't think it could have been anything else, though I may have come across a music video much earlier, or seen a record at the record store, or an article in a magazine and remember nothing of it.

I vaguely knew he existed before I bought Batman, and I was familiar with several songs without knowing it was him, but that's pretty much all I knew.

So IDK. 1988-89 was 15 lifetimes ago...

The first time I actually saw him as in a picture was at CW Dean's record store, just a couple of blocks from my house. I fell in love, once I matched the song I heard on the radio "Soft & Wet" to that picture, I was all of 13yo.

Probably the WDC video, or maybe 1999 or LRC. Loved all of these video's back in the day!

First time I saw him was on the nine 'o' clock news shortly after his appearance in the 1985 Brit Awards, with Big Chick. Caused quite a stir, and made the news

The first time I saw Prince, it wasn't Prince, it was the Paisley Park video and I thought a dude pushing kids on the swings was Prince (It was an extra). A few months after this (Early 85 - Aug 85) I saw the Raspberry Beret video with him in the Cloud suit and thought, yeah pretty weird, but the song is cool.

I was 9 and I liked the song, but it was just a song and I was hardly going to change my life over it - MJ was still number one in my eyes with Madonna and Wham! back then.

It took a video with him humping girls on stage, forcing a guitar head towards his ass and mincing around the stage in a catsuit for me to become a fan 6 years later

The first time I saw Prince is when MTV came ourt back in 1983. I was 10. The moment that 10. The moment that I saw him. I did not realize that I had stoppped eating my lunch. Until I felt a very hard tap on my right shoulder. The song was 1999.

I'm pretty sure it was the 1999 clip which I saw on tv. I remember I was intrigued but probably found him a bit mysterious and strange. I was only 12 years old. I also remember seeing the Vanity 6, Nasty girl clip. I'm a big fan since Sign O The Times. My first live concert experience was in 1992.

1984 - Little Red Corvette on MTV. My initial experience seeing him wasn't pleasant. I saw him come on TV and was just drawn to him. Loved his look, sound, and remember walking closer to the TV set to see him closer. As I was walking closer, I said, "Now, that is one sexy man." My ex-husband was extremely racist, though I never knew how racist until this moment. I found myself on the floor with my ex standing over and calling me a very foul name. I became a closet fan until 1998. When he came on TV, or the radio, if my ex was around, I'd change the station or ignore it, if he wasn't around, I was watching/listening to him closely.

In 1998, I had been divorced for awhile, was with a new boyfriend who was a musician, and he re-introduced me to Prince. There was so much music I had not heard. I saw the Purple Rain movie for the first time, and went to my very first Prince concert, was about 3 to 6 feet from him the entire concert as it was general admission and we got in early and were close to the stage. I had to seek him out, find out more about him, and my then boyfriend suggested I get the internet and look him online. I found the org first, and then found Love4OneAnother, and was hooked ever since.

After that I bought the 12 inch single and later the album from my allowance and became a fan ever since.

The first time Live was in Rotterdam on the Sign O The Times tour in 1987.

U didn't spescify is this on the tv or live in person;

So on tv was the American Bandstand performance: "I Wanna Be Your Lover"

And in person: 1999 Concert in Dallas, Texas in 1982
