So I'm still making my way through these tracks, and when What If started up, my brain did some sort of weird malfunction--I was like "Wait a second! Why is my computer playing Katy Perry?" I thought it was Dark Horse!
Maybe I'm overtired? | |

Agree
Exactly!.. The Family album had the strongest collection of Prince songs of any of his associates albums, but they were missing his voice! These are great!

be able to easily pull them up when I get home. Thanks. Yes and SP are instrumentals, so you can use the ones in the album. River Run Dry is not a Prince song so chances are that he didn’t record it. You can replace it with Feline though, and get an amazing Prince’s Family playlist.

I did some searching on YouTube and found a Prince song I've never heard of called "The Get Down". I'm guessing it's a new leak. Its from 1983.i have no idea what he's saying but it sounds really cool to me [Edited 12/9/17 3:54am]

The boot version of Yes is much longer and has Eric's sax turned up in the mix instead of buried like the LP version. If this would ever leak in better quality, I'd be so happy. Someday.... Keep your headphones on.

. Are you suggesting what I got is not a direct rip? Interesting....! Now I got even more reason to obtain b00tz! Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

when will they relax their sphincters (sp?) and release the The Family album with Prince vocals ...rather than have to string it together like someone else will [Edited 12/9/17 10:13am]

the soundboards of the mononeon rehearsals r coming from sabatage...sample sounds freakin great

Possibly from something else, I'm listening to a rehearsal from early 1982, of "I Would Die 4 U". Instead of that quick high hat, that rhythm is being played on a guitar probably by Prince or Dez. Then it breaks down, it's a synth part. The high hat is sort of irrelevant in this version. The drums are slightly different, but not a lot. He's blending "Uptown" with it near the end. Almost sounds like something The Rebels would have done. Sorta. If you have a problem with me, text me. If you don't have my number, you don't know me well enough to have a problem with me.

The quality of Alphabet Street is a bit wobbly, but I love it. It's full of new chants and instrumentation, some of which are deeply buried in the mix of This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip released version. That bass line has always killed me.

Hey, where and who was the person who doubted 17 Days extended existed? And why couldn't WB have put this on the PR Deluxe? "Climb in my fur."

I was one of them!--and I've already said positive things about it (though I don't think it was here on the .org). I didn't really believe it existed, and I didn't expect it to be particularly better than the released version if it did. It does exist, but it isn't particularly better than the released (though that Brenda bit is certainly unexpected--at least until I read about it in Duane's book).
