... listening to Nothing Compares 2 U. This is the version we all knew, deep down, was lurking someplace. Drives home the point nobody can make a Prince song work like Prince can. They usually sound at some level, no matter how small, like struggling imitations.
WHY did he release that Vegas version w/Rosie warbling on and on (cringe)? This version needs a proper official release. Release his take on the whole Family album in pristine condition. Let the world hear it.

I’m not affiliated with the estate. But if it were up to me I would gather up the family demos in pristine or remastered shape and release as a Prince album per the early High Fashion configuration. Include photos of Prince wearing his most groundbreaking and iconic UTCM looks. For promoting the release, blitz media with stories of Prince as a fashion icon. | |

Mostly agree, I have never been into that live version. A perfect deluxe edition of the Family album would have both versions of the album. I think we do need to respect that whatever we think of the released version vs. the Prince guide tracks it was, at the end of the day, Prince's vision for it at the time. | |
