Pittsburgh 1981-11-20 SBD has leaked ahead of EYE's upcoming release. Apparently it's from a fan and not a rip from EYE's bootleg.

Several have disappeared, but, that is because of the rule that we can't talk about bootlegs that have not been released yet. So, nobody should talk about details on that not-yet-released boot. Let's just talk about this specific leak and we should be fine.

I love Annie Christian to death - but man does it not work live, at least in 1981. Brings the whole vibe down. If he had other "weird" songs like it at the time, maybe it would work... but not after "Head"!

Damn, wouldnt be surprised if it turns out stuff like 1980 demo for Little Red Corvette or a 1981 soundcheck of A Case of u actually exist And I kind of like this soundcheck more than the studio versiom, rawer and it hits you with more guitar

i'm going to blaspheme here, so hold on to ur panties children, but i've never liked the
extended version of I Would Die 4 U.

the album version: one of my favorite prince songs though but that extended is
just so boring and it hasn't got that magic feel of the album version. i never got the
fascination people have for that extended version. same with la la la he he hee. it's
the only two extended versions of songs that i don't really like.

anyway moving on. or back. this rehearsal for I Would Die 4 U is fascinating
i'll have to check back to the Questlove dj clips from a while back where he played a
bunch of outtakes but there were 2 bits of I Would Die 4 U in there and one sounded
a bit like a souped up version of this rehearsal. so could there be a demo of it that's
closer to this rehearsal?

u can find a few versions of that song with Prince playing Santana like guitrar solo.

he played guitar on I Would Die 4 U live first ave 1983

i think his original intention was to play guitar on that one

Quietly cosign here…never been a huge fan of the extended version of I Would Die 4 U. The album version though…amazing.

So cool to still have so much to find out and hear from an amazing artist. We are truly lucky.
