If you could create a club/venue ONLY playing Prince Music

You recently won the lottery....a modest $60 million eek . After a few parties, going around the world and and spending some of it on yourself and family plus multi million dollar mansions you got some spare cash to burn.... lol

You always had the vision of creating a venue/club dedicated to the Purple One...you think to yourself goddamn the possibilities are endless!

So what would you call your venue?
Where would it be?
What would it look like style wise? (maybe the building is in the shape of prince with purple lighting)
How many rooms / floors would you have? (multi rooms for all the decades of Princes music that people could wander through and choose perhaps?)

Would you have a music restaurant/cafe for daytime or for folks to eat before the night starts?

How many bars? (if any knowing Prince didnt drink)

Who would DJ? or would you have live bands too?

Lets get those creative juices flowing people....this is your chance to go wild! Imagine what your perfect Prince venue would be and how you would present Prince's music to the public

I would call it St. Cloud.
It would be a speakeasy into a cellar. Entry lobby adorned with big mirrors, Venetian masks, chandeliers and candelabras, purple walls with black silhouettes of birds. Flowers in pots. Lace hanging from ceiling. Elevator to bring...us..down. Mirrored ceiling and black and white checkered floor in elevator. Dance floor is see through. Water below floor changes colors with lights. White columns around the room. Stage for live jams. Concert lighting system from the ceiling to move and change colors for whole room. Cloud walls ala raspberry beret. Bar with prince themed drinks. Open from dawn to dusk.

Open in Tokyo, LA, Uptown, NY, London, Berlin

Years ago, when I finished cosmetology school I had dreams of having my own salon. I had a huge sketch pad and had done a quasi-blueprint of the salon. I also had the idea of it being in the same building as a nightclub. I forget what the salon was called, but the nightclub was called Minneapolis.

One thing about it was that it had elevated sections of the floor with seating and tables (just like stadium seating but with tables). But, if a band performed, you could remove the tables and chairs (the tables were fitting into the floor so they couldn't be thrown at someone HA!) and either pull up the lower level or lower the uppermost level to even it out to make a stage. There was a regular VIP seating area, risers on the dance floor, etc etc.

The club wasn't open to the salon, rather it was just a big building subdivided into two different commercial spaces. The club wasn't Prince-centric, but it would have had a lot of nods to Prince inside, whether purple interior and decor, a take on the symbol, or anything else Prince related. It could have been fun to have exhibition rooms with personal memorabilia, etc, and swap out other artists at different times. (It reminds me of a club in Oklahoma City called The Pyramid, in the top level of an old building. They had different rooms with things called Tortured Art.)

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Now you're bringing back suppressed memories of being at Paisley Park back in the day.

I know years ago there was a guy in LA who would host all Prince and associated artist themed club nights on a regular basis but he stopped doing them. It was called Club Head. He'd decorate the venue with Prince and Paisley Park/associated artists memorabilia and posters and from the pics I saw it looked awesome. I wish I lived in LA, I would have gone for sure. There was another attempt at a club devoted to Prince music but I don't know what happened with that one. Here's a link to a Prince.org thread announcing it: http://prince.org/msg/2/191346

I found a pic online of that one:

An old soul
