Prince on "One Of Us" I had my music on random and this one popped up from a 1997 boot. What Prince said in the intro was very interesting. Now the idea of this song - we do believe - is about taking your own destiny into your own hands. Thinking about the future. Not just as one individual but thinking about your brothers and sisters at the same time. What if God was one of us? Now don't get your shorts on too tight about this one y'all. What if God were all of us? Maybe God is so cool that he hides out inside, each and every one of us waiting for us to do something to manifest his glory here on Earth. Talk to me if you hear me tonight. What if God were every one of us? How would you spend tomorrow? Better yet, how would you spend today? | |

That we each have God inside us (that's correct) and what we manifested from inside of us in how we treat ourselves and each other is what will be manifested on earth. The Lord's Prayer talks about this. | |

Very cool that you heard this! It's amazing what you can stumble across now that Prince passed, and how you hear things with new ears. I've always felt like "One of Us" was such a Prince song, and no accident that he covered it. Thanks for sharing. | |
