Queen and the Prince I just watched a documentary about Queen and noticed relations between Prince and Queen…
- Queen started with a very "FEMALE" attitude ( Prince untill 1981) and later wore costume (–>Prince and Parade in 1986) with a more MACHO attitude (the torso "Kiss"). - After being a HARD-ROCK band (->Prince and "Bambi"), Queen got softer with POP (->Prince and 1999 or Diamond And Pearls). - the "Queeny" Prince testament is "3 CHAINS OF GOLD". This is one of my favorite GlamSlam-Rock Prince track. "Alexa de Paris" sounds quite glamslam too. and at last: - Freddy Mercury from Queen died from "a BIG desease with a LITTLE name" called aids… The 1986 Prince looked quite like Freddy in his latest years (no mustache and nice soft face). Did they ever met or did any comment on each other? PEACE.

To the ones who did not understand (???), I am talking about Queen ("We Are the Champions", "I want to break free" and "Under Pressure" big hit makers of the 80's and the leader Freddy Mercury. 3 Chains of gold is not that nasty, this is glittering slam!

I think you're trying too hard to find similarities. Sure they both have royal names, love eccentric costumes and they both rock, but other than that, I can't see too many similarities. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Another interesting coincidence is that if you smoke enough crack, the covers of Queen's "Jazz" album and Prince's "Parade" album will melt into a talking winged giraffe named "Popo" if you hold them next to each other long enough.

There was a thread on the org that I replied 2 about a year or more ago regarding Queen and Prince.
I can tell u 4 a FACT that Freddie was a HUGE Prince fan. He would think nothing of coming back after a nite's clubbing with the lads (usually 3 or 4 in the morning) and put on his videos of either Purple Rain, Sign o' The Times, or the Detroit Parade gig - which I know was a particular favourite of His. He liked this gig so much that He'd think nothing of playing it over and over again - and insisting that people pay attention and watch it with Him! He would sit there with the remote, and spend an hour or so playing selected highlights, or watch the gig from start 2 finish a number of times! As a final aside 2 this, I remember an article in The Sun (English Tabloid) in 1987 where Prince had hired a mansion in Staffordshire so that He could easily commute 2 where He was putting His band thru final rehearsals 4 the tour. After He left, the 'butler/assistant' who was in residence, and who's job it was 2 take care of Prince's needs (like maybe - finding a camel at 3am - joke!) told the paper that He pretty much kept Himself 2 Himself in His room, and would watch Queen's: 'We Will Rock You' video. Just wanted 2 share that with the Org anyways, as I thought it was a nice story worth telling. Just nice 2 know that they were both mutual admirers of each other + think Prince was approached/asked 2 appear at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium 2 - but dunno what happened there - He obviously didnt! He was probably 2 busy layering background vocal harmonies on2 '3 Chains o' Gold'!
