Most blind people use their hands to 'sse' things. As close as Prince and Stevie were I would like to think that Prince let Stevie 'see' his face at some point. There was much love between those two musical geniuses.

I think this was the video where Prince was talking about Stevie onstage. Said he never told him how much it meant to him when he was a kid and Stevie Wonder, a black man, kept topping the charts.

Someone on Facebook said that at one point Prince was off to the said of the stage and he was looking at Stevie and crying.
Did you get a sad or somber vibe from this show?

There was never really a thread where it was relevant to share this, but the only time I saw P live in person was in 2007, when he came out onstage to play "Superstition" during Stevie's show in NYC at Madison Square Garden. Just a beautiful, beautiful memory, and I wish I appreciated Prince as much back then as I do now.

There was much love between those two musical geniuses. From a 2004 Entertainment Weekly interview: http://ew.com/music/2016/04/21/prince-ew-cover-2004/ So what is he learning from Stevie these days? “I learn just by watching him,” he says. “One day, he wanted to show me what it’s like for him to experience the world, to actually feel a piece of music, so he held my hand. Here, hold my hand.” Prince extends his palm, and I take it. It’s warm and dry, and his nails are exquisitely manicured. “Now at first, it’s like ‘Whoa, I’m holding hands with a man!'” He quickly releases his grip and throws his hands up. “Now, those thoughts and feelings are mine, and we all have to work those things out for ourselves. But then I started thinking what it means for Stevie to be able to hold someone’s hand–anyone’s hand, even a man’s. He’s telling me he respects me. And by extension, he’s teaching me that I have to have that same respect for everybody in life.” Paisley Park is in your heart

I bought Stevie Wonder on TWO track tapes as a kid. He was my first big music crush. "if you can't clap on the one, then don't clap at all"

But you do appreciate Prince now so don't beat yourself up. Some people didn't get on the purple train until recently and some haven't gotten on yet but they have and they will. That is the magic that is Prince!

When Prince was on the Tavis Smiley show speaking of the election of President Barack Obama, Prince said, "I don't vote and I got nothing to do with it. I have no dog in that race." Prince went on to explain that he doesn't vote because he is a Jehovah's Witness, and that "prophecy is what we all have to go by now." Prince was already scheduled to play a show in D.C. the following night anyway, and Obama is a big Prince fan and thought about doing something around it." At the daily White House press briefing two days later, press secretary Josh Earnest called it "a non-public event that occurred at the White House" and added, "Given the private nature of the event, I don't have a lot of details to discuss from here." However, he did confirm that the Obamas personally paid for the event. In other words, it was a gig($), no more, no less.

If I remember correctly, this event was so quiet that the press didn't know that prince was performing at the White House until al sharpton tweeted about the incredible performance that he had just been at.

I thought that I read that Prince himself eventually tweeted or said something on social media...that he basically stated that he was proud of Obama for doing the best he could. If you folks read a little closer, you will find that even though JW"s don't believe men are fit to rule, they do believe that some men are better intentioned than others. The earlier post left out what else Prince said about Obama in the Tavis interview, he called him a good man. Going to the White house even for "just a gig" was a big deal for Prince; working with Van was as well. I think P's beliefs about government were more mixed than many realize. He loved the musical Hamilton for a reason (and rap is not his favorite genre...lol)
