Could Prince play the banjo? I know he was a amazing guitar player and piano player but could he play the banjo? A friend asked me if he could and I replied yes but now I'm wondering if their is video evidence that he could play the banjo? And what songs is the instrument used in? Thanks | |

Yes I think he made many films playing it. Didn't he have a hit single called,, When I'm cleaning windows! In the UK? |

Sheena Easton talked about being given a banjo and being told to play it, even though she couldn't, so she did whatever she could with it. Always sounded suspicious to me as a story, however. | |

I haven't hear a banjo anywhere in Prince's music. He probably left that instrument on the shelf. It seems like if he could play an instrument, he would play it in his recordings. Maybe the thing didn't fit his personal musical palate. | |

Yeah, I've never even touched one because of that--I prefer to learn quietly, and I don't think you can actually do that at all with a banjo. | |
