Quick Question: How many of Sheila's songs did Prince write?! I know he wrote practically all of The Glamorous Life but what about Romance 1600 and Sheila E.? As we know, he was quite generous and would often credit her even if we all knew it was him. When I think about it, I'm genuinely curious.

IIRC, princevault lists the previously unreleased b-sides (Too Sexy, Save The People, Paradise Gardens, The World Is High) as having no involvement by Prince. Seems unlikely, all things considered...

Indeed, at least with Too Sexy and Save The People, yet it's apparently the case. Nilsen/Uptown clearly didn't forget those and apparently got clear information that P had nothing to do with them. BorisFishpaw, however, listed Prince as "producer" on TS and STP, but it was unclear what he meant by that and after discussing the topic here years ago, consensus was that P wasn't involved at all. It's possible that Duane's book reveals new infos, though.

Maybe there should be a few things added on the front page, like an updated FAQ and a visible link towards Princevault: with all the new fans that have joined since P passed, I regularly see people ask questions that Princevault could have answered, showing they don't know the site, and over and over again the same question about how bootlegs leak.
Good idea about the PrinceVault link databank. However, I have lost count of the amount of times I (and many others) have personally given people the link to PV over the years, only for the same people to ask another question a few days later which could easily be researched and found on PV.
In a lot of cases we're preaching to the pure bone idle.
Always remember there are a lot of NEW Prince fans / fans to the Prince scene. So we might know of a lot of topics and websites, but others do not.
Some people are lazy in their questions, some are looking for connection or discussion.
We are pointing out and offering the links to informative websites though, not just PV either.
.
As for people loooking for connection and discusssion, that's good, I get that. On the other hand there are those who ask questions and are given informative and lengthy answers who offer NO discussion in return, hell most can't even offer a simple thank you for your efforts. This thread being a prime example.
I find my self agreeing with both of you, OldFriends4Sale & TheDigitalGardener. We do want to engage with and educate new fans, but we also expect them learn how/where to do their own research and not be lazy.

Got to think that Too Sexy and The World is High were by him. They sure sound like it.

Which doesn't necessarily mean they are. Sheila learned to program the Linn Prince-style, for example, and the Hello-sounding sped-up guitar playing in STP can also be emulated if you know how Prince did it in the first place. I agree that some things on those tracks definitely sound like him (not all though, like the guitar on Too Sexy which is very unlikely to be Prince), but it does not consittute proof: a professional musician, let alone one in P's camp, should know how to "sound like Prince".

I know, I help people out all the time with similar results. I just do it or don't and keep moving.

People didn't read the FAQs bck in the 1990s (PPML, amp,...) and got upset when you pointed them to it.
I don't see how he wasn't involved at all with at least "Too Sexy." During a couple of points his voice is clearly heard so he at least performed on it. True that doesn't mean he wrote it or produced it but he had a part in it somehow.
I only heard Sheila E, on Too Sexy.
This song, Merci4theSpeedofAMadClownInSummer(Romance 1600) were sited as being done by Sheile E and her band/members.
It isn't hard to imagine the band members in his camp back then to duplicate sounds to get the touch I wish we had more with the Time.
Leader of the band is a fairly recent combined effort of Prince and Sheila it’s a great track as well, you can really feel Prince in the track if you know what I mean
Steph Birnbaum who played guitar in Sheila's first band (he's the blond on the back of the Romance 1600 album) could "emulate" Prince to a degree on guitar and vocally.

I can't agree with you on that, Gary. I don't think he sounded like Prince at all.

Well, not saying he was a Rich Little level impersonator haha!

I don't think he did either. BUT Steph could kill that guitar. He was very skilled on the ax

I am very much so familiar with Princevault. I had assumed it was more than likely already a thread on it so I came here before going through all of her discography with the intentions of somebody pointing in direction of the thread... I'm not new either btw lol

I didn't hear his voice but this is actually the song I was listening to before I sat here thinking "Damn, I hear him all over this!" leading to me to wonder how much of her own music did she write/produce circa 1983-1987

You lazy orger
Her whole discography (at least the part of it involving Prince) isn't much
Also remember PrinceVault doesn't have 100% answers on everything.
I've updated them on stuff like Chocolate also have Jill Jones on background vocals as well as per Lisa Coleman Prince having Lisa & Jill come in to do additional vocal work on Baby I'm A Star

Except OP didn't even bother to research first. Couldn't even be arsed to check some of this stuff out on Princevault and then perhaps start a thread on "PV sayx X, but I can hear Prince's voice on track Y, so is PV incomplete?"
.
Instead it's the old "spoonfeed me this easily retrievable information!"

Thankfully usually people don't listen to Bart otherwise there would only be 5 posts a year on year org. It's a Prince forum. People ask questions.
