Not that it matters, but I'm white. This isn't about race or identity politics. Nor is it about emotional reactions regarding celebrity figures with little to no basis in fact.
I've made my argument earlier in this thread and provided links to tweets by Prince himself to substantiate it. [Edited 11/21/17 17:02pm] |

How would you know, Laura?
It is not what I know it is what I am surmising from reading the court docs.
1) It was mentioned in the court docs earlier that someone had POA to sign some of those Tidal contracts on Prince’s behalf. Why would a controlling person like Prince give anyone POA to sign a 3-million-dollar deal? I have not seen anything in the court docs recently were the POA is being disputed most recently the dispute by the estate went to the contract being back dated.
If the case goes to trial more info is going to come out about the POA as in what was wrong that Prince even had one is place.
2) I cannot see how the estate is going to prove the contract was fraudulent when originally the claimed they did not even have a copy of the contract or even appear to know about the payments. We have heard nothing else about missing money and if money was pain and songs were supplied to Tidal you have an exchange therefore a contract. Not sure how the estate would prove there was never any intent for the two parties to work together. I think this is a disagreement about the terms and both parties can sit down and work it out.
3) If believe that some aspects of the contract are solid as I do not think the material would still be on Tidal’s plate form if massive copyright infringement was taking place. If Tidal has paid the money that was due to Prince and monies for royalties and Tidal was not able to stop the music from going to other streaming platform. Why not settle the matter and move on the contract was for only five years and is almost half over? Makes sense to settle this matter and move on.

How about morals and ethics? It is obvious that Prince wanted to work with this company he was still sending them music a week before he passed. The question people should ask is . Who started this crap with them. LM who had not worked with Prince in years and came out of the shadows to take over and immedialty set about breaching contracts and firing people for the sole purpose of lining his pockets and his friends at UMG.
Prince had a place for his music, had a deal with WB, and had an LLC for his music and was acting as his own admin. Who fucked all of that up in a week's time and why.
The fool should have known that will or no will business are not going to just allow a money making contract be ended for no reason whatsoever. |

Thanks!
Now I see it.
Both Comerica and Tidal filed a "Proposed Order" To Amend Scheduling Order,
and that language is not in Tidal's but in Comerica's. |

Bodhi, I am surprised they didn't ransack PP and start selling memorabilia ...
1Sasha, After one of the older sisters put out the recording of P's father and used the PP studio to do so, many people commented. I thought ok.... the facility is there, maybe/probably no big deal.
.
I know they said the vault storage wasn't proper, mold and dampness ..... but after all this time you would think an a/c and dehumidifier would the least they could have done.
.
But when they announced the 20K recordings being moved, it made me wonder if the sibs were eyeing the vault contents and there were whispers of them releasing stuff on thier own ... which may consequently have lead the SA to move contents to iron mt.
.
Anyway the timing made me take notice. Why wait all this time? Of course I don't really know.
.
~~DD55
DD55 quite an interesting deduction, I agree the timing is a key factor, if we consider the timing of all of this and examine the question "Why wait all this time" further. It appears that Comerica realized that Sharon was able to release music from P’s father without their involvement, it looks like she was also requesting feedback from fans right here on the org during her Q&A around the same time, asking for suggestions on what fans would like to have released. Around the same time, I also appears that all of the heirs were in discussion around the possibility of releasing the content independently via a music club format. Then shortly after that time Sharon states in the org Q&A that the heirs have no control to give the fans the music, this was also supported around that time by a similar statement by brother Omarr. Comerica and Troy Carter get wind of this at that time and instead of helping the heirs set up a protocol for the heirs to decide how best to get the music out which would satisfy the financial needs for the taxes, give the fans what they are asking for, and close the estate sooner, Comerica decides to clean out the vault under the pretense claiming that the vault was waterlogged, people were stealing, there could be a fire, etc. What if half the things Comerica ever said turned out to be a lie, How will you know the truth? Sounds like a song I heard once upon a time. |

John's music was not an asset of the estate. The material in the vault is and the sibs have not inheirited any of the assets. They cannot go and take anything. Comerica is being watched by the court they cannot not bend to the demands SNJ to the point of breaking the law.

Now the estate are applying for a license for Paisley Park to sell alcohol for their Superbowl activities.
Some people on Twitter are upset, but bearing in mind Prince's music is now on Youtube and Spotify, the very two venues he was most vehemently critical of, a few beers at Paisley seems kind of trivial in comparison.
It's becoming increasingly clear though that Paisley is no longer Prince's home in any respect, but is rather a Prince- themed venue. |
