Interesting Song Titles From Estate Inventory

This list of copywritten material owned by the Estate has a lot of unreleased and unheard of songs (by me at least). These are some of the songs we have the besst chance of eventually hearing since they were well thought of enough to include with many unreleased songs we already know. These are some of the one I found most interesting:

03 Bonnie & Clyde (an unreleased remix?)

5 Foot City

Aguadilla

America Number One

Asswoop

Battle Flag

Be My Mirror

Bela Lugosi (maybe the soundtrack for that UTCM scene in the hotel)

Butterscotch

Coca Cola Jingle (the only evidence of him considering doing a commercial)

Daddy Never Left Ya

Exploding All Over Europe

Goldie’s Parade

I Feel Stereo

I Want U (Inner City Blue) (possibly for the 1995 Marvin Gaye tribute compilation?)

I Want U (Purple Version) <<<<<<<

Kitchen, Surgery, Face Off

No Cones Allowed

Poorgoo

A Rapper’s Reputation

Showgirls

Synth Explosion

Yo Mr. President

A few of these have been released. Also, Kitchen, Surgery Face-Off is the name of a track on Danny Elfman's Batman score, I wonder what the Prince one is.

.

Aguadilla - From Things Left Unsaid, Eric Leeds and Prince gets a cowriting credit only because it's a semi cover of The Family's Desire, but no direct involvement.

Asswoop - Circulating, Madhouse 24 track Actually released thru NPGMC

Be My Mirror - Circulating. From the I'll Do Anything musical soundtrack nod

Exploding All Over Europe - Remix circulating Actually released by Rosie Gaines

Goldie’s Parade - officially released on Gold Nigga (NPG) nod

I Want U (Purple Version) - Officially released on Closer Than Close (Rosie Gaines) nod

No Cones Allowed - Uncirculating, from Coneheads soundtrack I didn't know, cool

Poorgoo - "Officially released" on the Undertaker (Promo CD/Video) nod

Showgirls - Unknown, possibly intended for Showgirls soundtrack? Most likely, maybe incidental music?

And...

03 Bonnie & Clyde - a rap song, Prince gets a co-writing credit just because it samples IIWYGirlfriend, many rap songs sampling Prince were registered like that at ASCAP, no direct involvement.

5 Foot City - same as above, another rap tune this time sampling Erotic City

America Number One - unknown to me

Battle Flag - same as above, sampling Sexuality

Bela Lugosi (maybe the soundtrack for that UTCM scene in the hotel) - Most likely indeed

Butterscotch - Most likely the Butterscotch vs Chocolate dialogue music from UTCM

Coca Cola Jingle (the only evidence of him considering doing a commercial) nod

Daddy Never Left Ya - unknown to me

I Feel Stereo - same as above, sampling Chaka's I Feel For You

I Want U (Inner City Blue) (possibly for the 1995 Marvin Gaye tribute compilation?) - Released on Rosie Gaines' Closer Than Close album alongside the Purple Version, and as a single.

Kitchen, Surgery, Face Off - Released on the Batman score by Danny Elfman, Prince co-credited because contains elements from Scandalous, no direct involvement

A Rapper’s Reputation - same as above, sampling Head

Synth Explosion - unknown to me, but sounds like incidental music from one of the movies

Yo Mr. President - unknown to me

Of course Beyonce sings the IIWYG hook on Bonnie & Clyde can't believe I forgot that. It's not quite as exciting that these are Prince samples and not new Prince songs but it makes sense under copyright.

BFTP doesn't even cover every vault track circulating, much less everything recorded.

The Coca Cola jingle was probably something written just to compete with Michael Jackson's infamous Pepsi campaign during the 80s. I don't remember hearing talk of a possible Coke commercial starring Prince and I can't imagine he would have actually gone through with it.

97% of the songs not on prince's own official releases are from songs he wrote for others,
bits and pieces from/for the movies or from samples of his music used by other people in
their songs.

actual outtakes on that list are very few indeed.

A bit of Scandalous is used in that music piece.

Good list.

Tina Turner did that 2012 Target commerical with "baby I'm a Star", I am sure Prince/WB needed to approve that one.

I remember Prince did some Print adverstising for Verizon during the 3121 tour, and of course he was sponsed by Coca Cola for Act II. I am sure there are some Prince advertisement he has done, but it mainly for his products like 3121 perfume, etc.
