The sister of late pop superstar Prince has promised fans the musician’s vast collection of unreleased music will be made public.

Tyka Nelson said the Purple Rain singer, who died in April 2016 aged 57 “always wanted people to hear his music”.

Prince was renowned across the music industry for building up a vault of unreleased albums and reportedly held more than 50 fully produced music videos which are yet to see the light of day.

Well the tickets are to go on sale this Friday but the exhibit will not be until October. So we will see in a few days. I hope it does well so Graceland startes shipping overseas. It is shame Prince had a lot of fans internationally.

:: My Name Is Prince will run at The O2 in London from October 27 with tickets on sale from August 25.

Do the British really spell it "Artefacts"?
The grammar and syntax on that site are terrible.

I wonder if this will make £ € $ ?

I think it will do okay and U.K fans get to see stuff they otherwise would not have a chance to see.

Tyka says Prince could come back as a hologram? Please God no! And what does she mean when she says she wants all of the music from the vault out? Someone has to oversee quality control. I highly doubt everything in the vault is good enough to be released. Plus are they really going to release music with profanity when that was something Prince moved away from and was against later in life? That bothers me. I’m almost hoping the family isn’t the final decision on what gets released and whoever is, is sensitive to Prince’s feelings on profanity (that rules out WB).

Please tell me where she said he was going to come back as a hologram. Also realize the family will inheirit one day and they will be making the decisions.

They have said they plan to put out music independently and quite frankly I do not see anything wrong with it. It is unlikely that a large company is interested in the Vault material so if the family can continue to work independely they will just be picking up were Prince left off.

I went to PP in April and already miss it, so great they're doing this. Looking forward to booking a VIP tour for the opening day and GA for the last. I heard Paisley Park merch will be available for purchase also.

https://inews.co.uk/essen...ster-says/

Nelson, 56, awarded a share of the singer’s £100m estate, said a Prince hologram could follow. She said: “A hologram could be done as long as it is of excellent quality. It would have to allow the fans to experience Prince in the way he allowed us to experience his music.”

“I won’t leave this planet until all the music is out of the vaults and shared with Prince’s fans. I haven’t heard it all and I don’t know how much is finished but it is the Paisley Park mission to share it with his fans around the world.”

Like I said I hope someone is involved in quality control. Prince was constantly recording and saved everything. That doesn’t mean everything is great and deserves to be released. I hope the estate involves people who can make the right decisions here.

She said could she did not say this was going to happen and they only thing they are promoting right now is the tour. The estate cannot afford to dick around. The longer they take to put out stuff you will have a lost of interest.

Haven't been able to get over to Paisley so as a UK fan I'm all over this!! biggrin

O2 is really his unofficial home over here now, at least for me, so it'll be great to head there for another Prince event. The week he passed I went to the gathering they did at the Brooklyn Bowl and it was an emotional but brilliant evening. Roll on October!!!

What does that have to do with quality control? You want them to start throwing anything out there just to satisfy casual or non fans short attention span? I don’t. Also I think there are things they can get out in the meantime - like remastered albums and live shows - while vault material is being worked on.

Remasters are coming via WB which if the PR project is an example will be thrown out and cheaply done. Trust me the family cannot do any thing worst.

Right? I love all the people who are suddenly experts on what Prince would and wouldn't have wanted, now that he's dead. (Not pointing a finger at anyone in this thread, but not not pointing a finger, either.)

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Then there's the PR remaster with Darling Nikki.

I think he loosened up a lot. He had sung electric Intercourse in a P&M show.
But rhere's rumors he destroyed some things.
If he didn't want it out, he'd have left instructions.

I’m talking specifically about curse words. I don’t think there’s any evidence he was mellowing out on that. I’m well aware he never gave up sexual innuendo. lol With Electric Intercourse for whatever reason he chose not to sing the word intercourse though he did sing the word climax. But during a P&M after show party in Australia he made a DJ stop playing Head. So go figure.

As far as instructions other than PP museum stuff (that he was apparently working on when he was still alive) what did he leave instructions on? That’s why the estate is in the mess it’s in.

I guess they do, the British spelling is correct as the e is pronounced softly and not hard like an i. So it is art"e" fact not art "i" fact.

I've been thinking recently, maybe if Prince had lived outside the U.S. he might still be alive today; going back to the cold of Minneapolis may have afforded him too much privacy. Maybe he really should have built that house near London's O2 Arena!
Anyway, U.K. Orgers, it's time to chant 'Hey Funky London' like we did 10 years ago.

Ian Boxhill did say that Prince had erased some of the racier tunes. So by getting rid of stuff those were his instructions.

I’m fully aware that things are going to happen that he may not have agreed with but I do think whomever has responsibility for the vault could be sensitive to his feelings on cursing. Like I said in another post, put the music with curse words off to the side and deal with everything else first. I have a hard time believing the only good music in the vault from the 80s and 90s is littered with curse words. Of course I know I’m in the minority here and most die hards want it all out.

If you look at the material he put out you can count the songs with curse words on your two hands. I doubt the vault is filled with songs with curse words. With Prince it was the topic that was the problem.

Circle of Armour comes to mine. Not one curse word is in the song but it is one of the dirtiest songs I ever heard by him.
