Ian Boxhill did say that Prince had erased some of the racier tunes. So by getting rid of stuff those were his instructions.

I’m fully aware that things are going to happen that he may not have agreed with but I do think whomever has responsibility for the vault could be sensitive to his feelings on cursing. Like I said in another post, put the music with curse words off to the side and deal with everything else first. I have a hard time believing the only good music in the vault from the 80s and 90s is littered with curse words. Of course I know I’m in the minority here and most die hards want it all out.

I agree with you rogifan, I'm not all in with the idea of going thru his music.
It feels like grave robbing to me. Your dead, now I want your stuff. Seems
Like we can't quite accuse the family of being the only greedy ones. To add
I am referring to the vault and his unreleased music. Pardon because i see thread is about O2 exhibit.

Looks like an additional 21 days added!

Probably the plan all along.

Even before this was announced the FAQs on the website said "closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day" ... if it was only 21 days from end of October, surely Christmas isn't even an issue ...

i was assuming they copied the FAQ from the Elvis exhibition, but didn't fully update them....

I only found out when I picked up a copy of Time Out London at a tube station on Tuesday. I hardly ever get a copy or else I don't think I'd have found out this week at all.

Anyway I bought a VIP ticket for 2 November when I got home 🙂

I don't know why this exhibition hasn't been put on the front page of the org TBH.

Hmm - Nothing on the O2 website about this.

Well the tickets are to go on sale this Friday but the exhibit will not be until October. So we will see in a few days. I hope it does well so Graceland startes shipping overseas. It is shame Prince had a lot of fans internationally.

:: My Name Is Prince will run at The O2 in London from October 27 with tickets on sale from August 25.

I was there, in spirit only. In body I was 4000 miles away, in London waiting for Prince to return.
Grits and gravy, cheese eggs and jam...
Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine and a side order of ham.

What does that have to do with quality control? You want them to start throwing anything out there just to satisfy casual or non fans short attention span? I don’t. Also I think there are things they can get out in the meantime - like remastered albums and live shows - while vault material is being worked on.

Remasters are coming via WB which if the PR project is an example will be thrown out and cheaply done. Trust me the family cannot do any thing worst.

Naw...if they're contract is up in 2021 there will probably only be one more release by them. It will probably be something with the hits again possibly some obscure stuff a few new songs they have laying around and maybe a few more 12" extended versions. Just as their final grab. They would only be interested in remastering 1999 & SOTT anyway and that would even be doubtful. The general public will never look past PR & there aren't enough of us to really make those millions record companies love. Indy label, smaller runs, digital download site...is the way to go. No advances, but full profit.

When tickets were first made available got VIP tickets for myself and my son who is 10. There was no mention of age restriction however have seen since it is 16+. I’ve emailed AXS who I bought the tickets from and they said he will be allowed in but as we are travelling some distance I wanted confirmation from the exhibition. Have contacted them through social media and email but no response has anybody else had an issue?

Rumors are that Parade is next. Remember the WSJ article that said WB had the license to the soundtracks forever. if this is true WB will work on those first. They did not sign the contract to not make money.

Not sure whether to get the VIP or Concession ticket.. Huge price difference, I've been to Paisley Park on the VIP tour this year. Is there anything at this exhibition that isn't usually on display at Paisley?

Prince: 1958-infinity. Thank U for everything.

Anyone had any luck canceling or changing their tickets?

I just realised I can't go on the day I booked so either need to change it, or sell it!
