The rarely seen Prince concert movie Sign ☮ The Times will get its first U.S. television screening in more than 10 years when its airs on Showtime next month.

The film, which was made to accompany the music legend's 1987 double album of the same name, will premiere Saturday, September 16, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The 84-minute flick includes performances shot at Prince's Paisley Park Studios in Minnesota, as well as footage from shows in the Netherlands and Belgium.

The film got a theatrical release in late 1987, but it wasn't a box-office hit, attracting only $3 million in revenue, per Box Office Mojo, despite critical praise. Nevertheless, the 1988 home video release was also certified platinum two years later.

Despite its popularity, and a VHS reissue in 1991, it has remained out of print in the States since then, though many countries internationally, including Canada, have seen the film come out on DVD in recent years.

I want to know who gave permission to re-release Sign O The Times with unseen footage without my permission or other band members permission. !!! The last I checked it was a concert and then it went to film. I've not even seen the new footage of the film. Prince passed away he didn't leave a will so my contract therefore has ended so any new material has to be approved by me and I cannot speak for other band members but I'm sure by them aswell. !!!!! Your NOT going to make ...a buck off me like everyone else is making a buck off Prince. I am very loyal and will always stay loyal ❤️❤️ Also I was the co star of that movie I also edited the movie in Hollywood with Prince. Do not put me in that "Golden Parachute" category. Someone needs to contact my business manager Hayley Drinkall ASAP !!! haleno1@me.com email address ......Before this goes to Showtime because showtime is pay per view cable. I have not approved the new footage I refuse to have it released until you speak to my business manager.

Oh and this hologram thing with Prince. Prince did not like the fact they were doing a Michael Jackson hologram so how the HELL would he like them doing a hologram of him .......with the NPG!! ????? YOUR DANCING TO THE DEAD !!!! Have you all gone mad at Paisley Park. For real. !!!!!!!!
