I do not find Jill's rants boring. I fill you can endure her if we all have to endure the Melvoin's and their nonsense.

Your equivalence is irrelevant. I was talking about Jill Jones.

We simply have a difference of opinion. I don't find name calling and foul language very refreshing at all. We all get angry but when someone calls another derogatory names (such as stupid) on a very public platform, one is attempting to diminish and shame the other. Furthermore, if she has been treated unfairly and has tangible "proof" of that, perhaps she should consult with legal counsel for remediation. Why notify an entity you are putting them "on notice" when you can get more satisfactory results legally? KoolEaze said:

Jill´s reaction are often a bit over the top but I don´t mind and I like that she speaks her mind. It is very refreshing to see someone be so open and honest, even if I don´t agree with everything she says. I think she was treated very unfairly in the past and she should make sure she gets compensated for her work. Don´t get me wrong, I don´t dislike those people that she speaks out against but I can clearly see where she´s coming from and can relate to most of what she says. And she is one of my all time favorite associated artists. A little bit of rage every now and then is not such a bad thing. She brings some balance to the Prince universe.

Agreed. Presentation is the thing. I can only assume she doesn't want to be heard. Seriously. What's more effective towards getting important people to listen? A calm, reasoned point-of-view OR incoherent trash talk? Isn't it obvious? What a tiresome individual.

Yes, because it is wrong to speak up for yourself. Sitting back and letting people steal credit for your work and you have no idea who she may spoken to prior to her on-line comments.

Thanks, Laura. . There are some new things if you scroll down miles, including Jill Jones' recent nasty screed against Susan Rogers. One thing Susan is NOT, is an idiot.

If nature had taken its course, Jill Jones would have disappeared into the ether. Now, with the advent of social media, we get to hear her increasingly unstable rants. What a bore.

This woman has some serious rage that appears to be bubbling up to the surface in ways not complimentary to her very self. I don't berate anyone their opinion but one can get a point across w/o attacking another.

ON PURPLE RAIN DELUXE EDITION CREDITS
NPG And Warner Bros Records you are on notice. You liberally think its ok to use someones voice and NOT CREDIT them on their work? How much more revisionist history and alternative facts do you think you will continue to create about Prince’s music, songs and life? Do YOU EVEN KNOW WHO IS REALLY SINGING ON THOSE SONGS? I have a journal if you are interested. How long do you guys want to keep fucking me? Has it really felt that good to you people?
I never signed anything. And frankly they do not have permission to have my voice on it. My contract with Prince was not until very very much later than these songs recording dates.
I also would say that if whomever went in and reviewed the mixes, the engineers usually wrote down on the reports who were in attendance on these sessions. It was usually part of the job. To be truthful, in the early days Prince was pretty good about writing that down or Peggy or Susan. Its their job essentially. The tracks also indicate. Yes its a lot of homework, but thats what doing research is about I think. I am very pissed off. Livid.

ON SUSAN ROGERS
She’s an idiot. Now people should reevaluate her little fucking know all assumptions and bullshit observations with her conjecture. Truthfully Prince barely talked to her. She was green. He worked her like a dog and I see that clearly she wasn’t doing her job. Useless.
And for the record Wally isn’t THAT great of a song and IT WASNT ERASED. She needed to be working rather than pontificating about the interpersonal relationships she knew NOTHING about!
That woman has been so mf ng busy whitewashing the life and music of Prince I can’t even see straight.
I wish I knew who she thought was doing the top line in “We can fuck”? Cause it sure wasn’t Lisa Coleman! No disrespect but damn.
These people just pick up dust themselves off and go do a fucking lecture on Prince and spread more misinformation like a fucking STD.
Everyone knows I was THE REAL SLAVE. Lets not get it twisted.
Fuck all of em."
-Jill Jones , 2017

You know when people die or money is on the table the worst comes out in people who want to benefit financially, emotionally or through self promotion. Jill is merely showing her insincerity of her so called respect for Prince and wanting to keep his reputation solid. If she has a claim against WB then take it up with them but do not use this forum as a platform and implicate Prince. Susan Rogers has no need to fear the derogatory comments of a hired singer ( who was paid by Prince for her Services as a singer)when she was engineer for 5 years. Prince knew who was his support and important to him. Jill needs to step off the coattails of Prince and go back to her life and what her talent made of it not be parasitic on Prince's career.

I know Jill has said that she is tired of people trying to make Prince out to be Sammy Lunchmeat and I get that.

I see you using this phrase in many posts and I'm not quite sure what you're trying to convey with it, considering how many different and various contexts I've seen you use it. If you're trying to say that Prince isn't the average everyday guy or working Joe, ok...but for example, in regards to your post quoted above, what does Prince not being 'Sammy Lunchmeat' have to do with Susan allegedly talking a lot about Prince's personal relationships (imo, she doesn't and hasn't) and Jill thinking Susan should keep quiet or doesn't know enough details? Just seems strange to keep shoehorning 'Sammy Lunchmeat' into discussions where it makes no sense. So, can you please give your definition of what that phrase means (to you) so I can understand better?

Jill used the term " Sammy Lunchmeat" in a lot of interviews and she states in again in her post on blog we are discussing. She means and this is how I am interpreting it from her statements that

people like the "Melvoins" and "Susan Rogers" or trying to imply Prince was some nerdy white guy and chump.

Jill is saying he was a brother thru and thru for some reason this is not the idea you are getting about him from certain people.

I think she thinks there was a whole another side to Prince that some of his associates had no clue about and I think she is correct. We all show the sides we want to show to different people at different times and as African- Americans we are experts at this.

I think she thinks a lot of the black associates and their contributions are getting "whitewashed"

which is another term she used.

The only thing she can do is make her contributions known in fact that is all any of the other associates can do. Why would anyone want their input to be hidden?

There it is

Christ. Like any of this matters. Now. When I listen to Susan Rogers, I hear someone with expertise relating her experiences. The rest of you tie yourselves up in knots going through whatever boring implications it means. Well, have at it. Just know that you sound very foolish. As for Jill Jones. Let's me honest, she was a hired singer who got lucky and had an album made for her. She should be thankful.[code]

Yeah, I like Jill for calling a spade a spade but it was completely uncalled-for to call Susan Rogers an idiot. Anyone with common sense will know it's absurd, I didn't even take it seriously anymore but one would think that a woman her age would finally learn to express her anger (also at Prince!) without attacking others.

I feel for her and also told her so and I know I'm the bad one for even posting here but none of us is in the position to give her the credit she deserves and we all got our own story to deal with. One has to grow up at some point and decide - do I want to believe in karma (but then I also have to take the Susan Rogers' of this world) or do I want to go on attacking people who have nothing to do with my deal but still stick around for support.

I agree she shouldnt call Susan an idiot, but should choose more careful words abouther displeasure when it comes to a person. But I understand her frustration as for decades we've heard Susan's versions and Im sure it has pissed some off probably. I mean in that pulled interview from 2 years ago where Prince disucssed his criticism of her is tantamount/example to that imho.

Jill Jones is psychologically unstable. This latest tirade follows on from many more. I wish her the very best, but she is clearly unhinged.

No, but I haven't met Donald Trump either and I know that he is an insecure narcissist. He telegraphs it. Similarly, Jill's hysterical ravings betray that she has invested far too much of her self image in Prince. And the truth is that Prince just saw her as another item on the payroll.

She'd be better off just letting it go, or at least just relaxing a little, but she wants everyone to endorse her deranged fantasies. The fact that they will not do so infuriates her.

btw, this has nothing to do with specific vocal parts she may have done on specific tracks. I'm not talking about that.

1. She is not psychologically unstable. I know her. Intermittent posts online do not make someone psychologically unstable. You guys are such laymen.

2.She hasnt invested too much in Prince, shes simply reporting what she knows and her feelings like all of you do about things and situations. And you're assuming a lot with the rest you posted as shes received a degree and has her own business since her days with Prince.

3.People who know nothing of people imvolved or of psychology (beyond an intro textbook) are so quick to label/dismiss someone as 'crazy'..it's crazy. Please stop doing that. It's disresepctful to people as well as stigmatizes those who are mentally ill as well.
