Starfish and coffee: a Prince inspired cafe in Brighton

https://m.facebook.com/StarfishAndCafe/

Not been, but my sister tells me it's good. Theming is very light. The name, and the play prince tunes. Don't know about the menu. But I'm keen to support them as I assume they are fans.

And the reviews looks good.

The front of the cafe is totally different now. On the front window they've painted music notes with the phrase "Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam", "Prince", and his birth and death date. There is a Banksy inspired girl letting go of a heart-shaped balloon that is floating over the music notes.

he whole outside and interior has been redone last year. There's a big neon sign in the place on the back wall that says "Starfish loves coffee". There is some very unusual artwork in the shop, table & booth seating, and a black and white checkerboard design flooring.

I know all this from Google Earth. You can see the image you've shown, but if you're on street view and navigate around the corner onto Lakeside Road, the photos are newer. You can also navigate into the cafe to see it all up close, including the front window (albeit backward).

Posted on their Instagram the day after Prince's death.

Looks like they have stand-up comedy, live music, DJ music, and Prince tribute nights at the cafe.

You're actually referring to a completely different cafe, the one the OP is talking about is in Brighton, whereas that one is in Palmers Green, a suburb in North London. I actually live very close by to the Palmers Green one and had been delighted to discover the cafe a while ago while walking there (meant to make a thread about it actually but it slipped my mind). The last time I walked past they had a flyer advertising a tribute concert there on 7th June; sadly I haven't yet found the time to actually go to the cafe, it's close by but a little out of my way.

Cool. I like the one I found, though. I dig the interior.

There is also a"Starfish and Coffee "cafe in North East Ohio. It's about two and a half hours from where I live. I have been meaning to make it up there, but I've been very busy. Here are the links. I will most definitely go if they do a Prince tribute night. It looks like they have essential oils and handmade goods also.
