In A Large Room With No Light from 86 has leaked. It's a clear enhancement over what we had before, but not perfect.

it doesnt sound as flat as the previous one, but it does sound better.

You can hear the instrumentation better - more defintion. Still not "quality" but better...i can't complain...its one of my favorite Prince songs ever. Much shorter version.

Yes, the metadata gets straight to the point this time. I personally find all this infighting pretty tedious, but if it means we get this kind of rush on leaks, I'm the last to complain.

This is a great listen, but I was really hoping we were going to get official release quality. I suppose it leaves something for the estate to do if they ever get their act together.

I know artistic choices and stuff and suchlike but, how on earth did a song of this quality not make it to an official release?

To have songs like this - this realised too - lying around decorating the walls of the vault is sometimes too much to bear!

He did release it though, just not this version.

Fuck yeah, a pristine sounding version of this has been one of my bootleg holy grails for a while (would love if there was a version that continued after the fade out but no idea if anything like that actually exists). This definitely falls short of "pristine", but lord knows I'm super glad to have it regardless.

This one to me is best so far. again not incredible quality to start...

same source... at 1:09 channel drop out on all versions.

But this has nice bass boost, and cleaned up. more mid presence.

getting closer. one day this will be a pristine new source.

But forget about it..... this is an A++++++ track.

Last night I came across a version that is just a little cleaner than the leak currently making the rounds. It's still not perfect but the high end isn't nearly as harsh from what I can tell

Great song, no question. But doesn't this just sound like the previously circulating best-quality version, but with some filters enhancing the percussion and vocals etc? In other words, remixed a bit (could you call it remastered? ) I am not complaining, only analyzing. I don't mind getting a free download of a great Prince song that someone has tweaked to improve the sound. But this does sound like the same source we already had.
