Toss that ingrid cd back in the player, its deserving of heavy rotation.

Yeah, when was there a 4 minute Wally? Maybe a 4 inch Wally but not 4 minutes one(and yeah I know they made their name in rehash in the past).

lol

seriously though, i'm slightly worried about that since "wally" was earlier reported
to be round about 6 minutes, no? so maybe this is an (fanmade) edited version? neutral

i've been playing "hippy blood" several times a day since it came up on shuffle
a month or so back.

that track was so ahead of it's time eek and it's not even produced by prince biggrin

some good stuff on her album though. nod

i'm thinking some of the ingrid tracks on this new set might be just her poetry
reading, so before the music was added. could that be it?

I don't know, I heave heard some of those non album ingrid tracks and they are pretty boring. I am not sure why they added these, all I can hope is that they are different versions. It just makes no sense to me to put the regular album ingrid tracks on here unless they are being used for pure filler. But even if it is that, surely there were better Prince filler tunes they could have picked.

We will find out soon at any rate.

No version of 6 MN is circulating 2 my knowledge....this is a real version of Wally ....but in this case and on this set it's a MONO VERSION ...the stereo one is in the hands of some collectors and has not been liberated!

Lots to look forward to with this! Hope for big improvements in sound quality for the ones previously circulating.

Hoping the full version of "Hard to Get" from 1981 sees the light of day on Volume 6.

Coco Boys and Emotional Pump are really cool. I'm hoping these are pristine, and not phone recordings of Questlove's DJ sets. Why is Ingrid's album included?? It's her album that was officially released? If Rave, Harem, and Dance With Power are sourced from my 20 year old shitty sounding cassette, I'm going to laugh my ass off. Polishing a 20 year old turd?? I will forgive everything if Screams Of Passion is pristine. Grail track for me.

I assume it's not Ingrid's album, but the outtakes from it--meaning the original poetry readings with Prince's synth backing. I tried to get some interest up about these about a year ago when I stumbled on a channel sharing them on Youtube (no longer there as far as I can tell), but the thread seemed to sink with hardly any notice. So I assumed that they were fairly well-known and I'd just managed to miss them. But maybe not?

Hear, hear! "Rave" is a contender for a top 10 Prince song for me, so I am massively grateful to Schlomo for making the song known to the Prince community.

That demo version with the orchestra samples still in it?

Well, the released studio version is the one I think of when making my Prince list, but the demo with the orchestra samples is amazing to me as well. Then there's the Small Club version, which is the highlight of that set to me.

Yah, U Know is kind of funny. So 80's. I'm guessing it's the 82 version? Princevault says Eric added horns in 86, but don't the horns on this sound like synth horns?

Feline is the same one Questlove played at First Ave last September. It doesn't sound like an 84 production to me. No Linn? The rap meant for St. Paul, that kind of rips Hollyrock has me thinking this was the original 84 version, and not the 90-91 revisit. Fun and funky track.

I don't think either of these are essential listening, but still very cool to have.

I love them both! Let the flood gates open!!! Yah, U Know will also be on disc 4 of BFTP 4.0 that's coming out, however, it is interesting that the original Prince version of Feline isn't going to be on either one of the new releases.

This is the album title in the ID Tag of Yah, U Know.
In the comments of the tag it says Down with CC Connections.

CC Lonely - NoFuckerTrustworthy
This is the album title in the ID Tag of Feline.

In the comments of the tag on this one it says

2 WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
@ EYE records - Your "work" is already outdated
@ the rat on the connections.com admin team - Yah, WE KNOW....
to be continued...

Sounds like somebody is pissed at somebody else. Maybe one of the "elite traders" broke a promise and sold some tracks to EYE?

hmmm I'm guessing those who know won't be talking? Sure is curious... lol
