Has this really leaked?

Probably. Not that I've seen it, but I assume people are telling the truth.

I actually forgot it was coming out this Friday. The days go by too quickly now and time loses meaning. When I realized we were only a few days away, I got excited again.

I'm eager to read reviews of the vinyl version of the remaster. I ordered the CD/DVD special edition, but I'm holding off on the vinyl for now.

I ordered the 3 disc and DVD set. I'm holding off on the vinyl too, but the picture disc is tempting. It Looks better than I thought it would. I think I'm gonna cave..

The Purple Rain soundtrack disc has a superb sound, but it's hard to listen to the Vault disc right after ! it's day and night...

The backing track of Katrina's Paper Dolls seems to be a slow down version of Wet Dream Cousin !

I listened it one time. Well, it is. Some things are good (Computer Blue is awesome), other are less interesting (Velvet Kitty Cat). I think often is clear we are accessing non-finished tracks. The sound is not perfect, but I think is quite enjoyable. Sometimes the Prince's voice is "under" the other instruments.

It is not a upsetting album, but it is another brick in Prince wall.

At the end of the day and through all the complaints I have read here, from sound to how many pictures to what shoot the photos were from to the "why didnt they this and that" . We all need to take a chill pill, be thankful you got this, WHO knows what WB has in their possession to release, I am sure down to the photos PRINCE had a hold on what could be put out there, if you notice lately all new unseen photos are just coming from the actual photographers and things like that WB is not putting out any of these things. SO I think they were limited to what they had and lets face it Purple Rain is the No Brainer reissue. I know people are now already clammoring for everything else to be remastered and issued but you better be in the mood for a long waiting period. This is not going to be a steady thing where dates are already known for the next issue, you may not see anything for years and hope you actually get to see something.

It's like "sha-la-la-la, sha-la-la-boom"! Super high-energy, driving drum machines, vocals all over the place.

Did you detected a minor dropouts on L&S in the intro right before the drums come in?!?

Yeah, it is too hot.... but then again so was most stuff P recorded back then. It's one of the reasons that although this remaster sounds better overall my go to will probably still be the original. The high end is a tad too much and, though not the worst offender I've heard, it's still pretty compressed.

I haven't listened to the album or singles, stuck on the vault disc. But, I totally expect I'll be sticking with the original on the album as well. I'm not a fan of the current standards for remastering so I don't expect to like it better. Anyway, I probably won't even listen to disc 1 or 3 till I buy it. I'll probably have disc 2 on repeat the next couple days... wink

Very well, thanks.

So this is only on the file I have and not on the CD itself.

Will replace the file ripping directly my CD when it will arrive.

Me too. On these days the Vault CD will be my prority.

Even if I have to confess that today the first thing I listened to was "God (Love Theme From Purple Rain)", from start to finish.

As good as some of the boots sounded, this blows them away.

Velvet Kitty Cat however has that Moonbeam Levels / Roadhouse Garden Not-From-A-Master sound to it.

Just to make sure I'm listening in the right place. Before the drum machines kick in, or before the drums come in after the "huh huh" in the intro?

Yup. Honestly, if a few songs had to have lesser quality sound, OD/RG, VKC & KPD are the first 3 I'd pick, so.... COOL?!? biggrin
