Does anyone have any photos of the house that Prince lived in before moving into PP? He was living there when Mayte first came to town and he had her over for visits and then when they got married, she moved into there. I've heard that its been bulldozed to the ground with everything in it. The double gate still stands. I read in Maytes book that whatever the color of the house at the time, was the same color of the car they would be getting. lol. or visa verse. lol thanks!

His father lived there when Prince moved to the house on Galpin Blvd, not Paisley Park.

Yep, Galpin house in late 1985. Paisley Park opened in 1987. Purple house on Kiowa Trail demolished in 2003 and Galpin Blvd 2005.

These are two different homes.

The house in the bottom photo is the purple house on Kiowa Trail, that sat on Lake Riley. A lot of his albums up through Purple Rain were recorded in that house, but not all of them of course. He owned the land to the south of it, too (to the right in the pic, the photo faces east). This house was razed after John L. Nelson died.

The top one is the Galpin house, very close to Paisley Park. It backs up to Lake Ann and Lake Lucy. He owned the undeveloped land from his house to the lake, and most of the land south toward Arboretum Blvd. He could see PP from his backyard, and probably find his house from upstairs at PP looking north. He also owned the land just north of the lot his home sat on. It's the infamous yellow house that he moved into around 1985/6 or so. It can be seen (inside and out) in the "Gett Off" (Housestyle, Gangsta Glam) videos, and that's the pool he was doing push ups next to in a bikini brief and suspenders (LAWD!). He had this house razed after his divorce from Manuela. From Google Earth you can still see the symbol in the circular driveway, although it's grown over a bit since then. If you put 44°52'24.62"N 93°34'25.39"W into Google Earth and look at the aerial view, and zoom in, you can see it. The house & pool are gone of course, covered with dirt and grown over. You can see the sidewalk path that led to a gazebo. The tennis court is still there.

Paisley Park was built in 1986-ish and opened in 1987. (Remember SOTT was filmed there and released the same year.) It's safe to assume he was permanently staying at PP after the yellow house was demolished. He did rent homes, like the 3121 home in Beverly Hills in 2006.

He had the NewPowerSoul villa in Spain (circa 1998 - the album sales paid for the house), and the house w/ Manuela in Canada for a while (circa 2002 or 2003?).

The Kiowa Trail sold recently, which was the purple house property. Two fans bought the property and plan to keep the gate, but rebuild a new home on the land.

To the other question, I don't know if Galpin sold yet or not. A lot of the extra real estate he owed sold, some is still in the process. He owned rental properties, and business buildings nearby. There is land, too. Galpin house had its own lot, but he bought the lots on either side and the lots south. It's not all one huge piece. It was just own by a one person.
