I am happy to believe that the character (a Prince like character) in this song is fondly remembering his first love. Just as you can remember a certain perfume or dress or cigarette smoke, he reminisces about her memorable piece of clothing, a raspberry beret. It is part of his first impression of her, and he can still remember when she first walked into Mr Mcgee's store. I feel the penis image falls down in the first line of the chorus. How did she wear an uncircumcised penis? Did she staple it to her head?

While aware of Prince's love of innuendo, I have heard this mentioned a few times. I have answered what may have been a joke thread seriously, but I really can't agree with the premise
