I don't think you can compare Beatles recordings to Prince. Firstly the Beatles were managed properly and the recordings they made would have been catalogued by their recording team making it to compile and release their stuff a much easier job. Secondly members of the Beatles are still alive and would have helped verify and assist with this anniversary release. Compare this with Prince who was probably the only person who was really in charge and knew about the stuff he recorded and played himself. I also imagine his vault probably wasn't neatly organised the guy pretty much wrote new tracks on a daily basis and doubt at the end of each session he would neatly save it the vault. The estate probably will spend a lifetime working through all of his stuff and having to piece together everything and make sense of it all.

It is probably too early to conclude anything but, at the current pace, you can almost bet that interest in Prince will die off (like any artist) before we get to hear what he left. Of course, many of us have hundreds of unreleased songs but this artist is like no other in that he recorded so much and the bulk of his live shows.
It is just too bad. In his life, he kept it all quiet and now, his family seems to be making a mess with all of their disagreement.

. There are how many songs in the Beatles' catalog, compared to Prince? . I was a Beatles superfan but there has been nothing new and fresh for years. I can't believe others haven't also moved on. . Prince's crazy-mad recording is going to surprise for years. I think he planned the chaos. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

They had 50 years to come up with a box like that. The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

It will be like the Hendrix estate... 2 albums then a 30 year void due to family turmoil. The minute there became two factions with 2 different lawyers and entertainment advisors, we all got screwed.
