PURPLEIZED3121	Purple Rain Deluxe - Old school buy it or new school DL?! Dont know about you but I want my old school expereince back. Screw DL on the moring of release. I want that old school feeling of waking up excited, rushing to the record store..looking for it, opening it up & playng it as soon as I get to my car..& then thumbing through the packaging. How about you?

PurpleYoda3121	Won't be home until over a week after it gets released, so unless I can find it at a Walmart or something I'll just stream it on Spotify until I can get home and buy it. U fall in love 2 fast and hate 2 soon And take 4 granted the feeling’s mutual

I feel the same way. Problem is, the past couple of times a new release has come out, none of the stores near me have it on release day. It's not at Target, it's not at Best Buy, etc. So I end up ordering it off Amazon. This has been the case with 4ever and both HitNRun albums.

How about you?

Pre-ordered the CD through Amazon with hopes that the digital download will hit my cloud the day before or earlier. I feel you though. When Kendrick Lamar's latest album dropped, it was sold out on most online stores but I still ordered it hoping that it would re-stock and ship quickly.

Anvil dropped on my head and reminded me of the Record and Tape Traders. Paid them a visit the same day and there was K-Dot's new album. Damn, I love the wrecka stow.

well.. it is simply cheaper to buy. The FLAC version (equivalent to CD) is more expensive, plus you get the DVD...

The online model doesn't make sense yet, to me. smile

I'll be at the store when they open that morning, buying the 3CD/DVD set. I'll be ripping the discs for use on digital devices immediately, unless it leaks early, in which case I'll have already downloaded illegal copies for my digital devices... but I'll STILL be there when they open to BUY a physical copy!!

I pre-ordered the online download (thru iTunes).......then cancelled and pre-ordered the 3 CD set via Amazon with the hopes that there would be interesting/informative liner notes included in the physical copy.

TheVaultKeeper	Definitely, old school. I haven't bought a physical Prince CD since 3121 in 2006, but I did pre-order the four discs expanded edition of Purple Rain Deluxe on Amazon.
