Not long ago I was wondering why this song hadn't leaked in pristine quality. Hopefully it'll be out soon!

And throw in the 3 CD version of Crystal Ball as well! That would be the MOAB! (Mother Of All Box sets)!

But don't we all already have the songs that are on the Camille and original crystal ball album? Most of the songs were either released on the sign of the times album and 1998 crystal ball album

You must be new. lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Rebirth of the Flesh and The Ball and, um, that specific segue into Joy in Repetition.

A limited edition release with proper artwork would be worth bringing out for Camille at least imho but yeah it's basically playlisting.

silly question, but how long's the longest leaked Cosmic Day version? I read (too) often about that snippet as if there isn't anything else... But if I have a long version, than I guess you all should have that??

Cosmic Day first leaked at 1:04. It then appeared at 1:50, the same as the one listed here. Do you have the longer, complete version, TheFman?

Just listened to it now, it's 2:26 and fades out there were 'something's about to happen' (a bridge?)
Could be that between 1:50 and 2:20 there was some 30 seconds of fan-made edit, but i'm not convinced, it sounds as if it belongs there...

Fan made edit. The real full version is 4min35 something like that. The longest legitimate version in circulation is 1min50

It would be nice, but I don't think it would be a smart commercial move.

Somewhat I can figure out more a bootleg release (like the CB of 2 years ago) than an official.

By the way, is it already proved that the versions of the tracks included on the original acetate of Camille are what already we have in our hands?!?!?

I always supposed it is, but I would be curious to know it.

Me too, obviously.

But officially I can see it released only on an eventual box set like the Bowie serie going on, as an additional disc (like "The Gouster" on "Who Can I Be Now").

In no way I can think of it as an isolated official release.

This thread passed me by because I assumed it was just referrfing to the instrumentals, which don't really interst me. But having now read it I'm quite looking forward to this. And as I'm late to the party I've got less time to wait. biggrin

Returning to the topic, if the well-known outtakes included in the box set are of the same sound quality of the Flesh sessions, it will be the fullfillment of a dream.

To say one, I beg for a pristine quality of the uncut "Crucial" from more than 20 years, and any time it was re-released in some way it was a dissapointment.

I strongly hope this is the right time.

Just did a quick scan and :

Crucial is a horrible mix of the Crystal Ball version mixed with the outtake.

Heaven is the same as the widely circulating one with the beginning missing.

In A Large Room With NBo Light is the same as all the other versions. Same goes for Get on Up, U Gotta Shake Something, Wonderfiul ass, Baby Go GO, Joy In Repetition, Witness. All these rehashes have no sound quality inprovements. Quite useless to put them on this release.

The rest is really cool, especially the beginning of the full Junk Music with the inverted beat. And really cool guitar work Slow Groove in G Major.

Yes, Crucial needs to be in pristine condition.

And I do believe this is the right time.

Sadly when I think of all these options, I bow my head in remembrance of Prince, and this legacy of work that he was not able to fully enjoy in connection 2 the masses
