Paula Abdul on Prince

YouTube suggested a video this evening, and it was Paula on Wendy Williams. While I don't deal with Wendy, I did watch to hear what Paula had to say about Prince. This is from May 2016.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Paula is so cute. She really looks good and glad she got her meds under control cuz she's a nice lady too. I do like "U" on her Spellbound album. I bet he had to have a bit of a crush on her back then. But she was with Emilio Estevez at the time, whom she ultimately married..and divorced. Anyway, cute clip!

Have U had your + today?

Cool to see...thanks for posting. Definitely could see the love and appreciation that Paula had for P. So funny that he would call her at 11:59! But what a horrible transition by the interviewer (don't think I have ever seen this show) from P to American Idol!

Yeah I thought Paula would talk about the time Prince made a surprise appearance on the American Idol finale in 2006. I heard Prince didn't show up at the building until maybe 5 minutes until it was time for him to go on stage.

U is my least favourite song that Prince wrote 4 another artist. It's very repetetive and bland. It doesn't help that Paula has a horrible singing voice.

Not surprisingly, that was the best song off her Spellbound album.

I used to love Rush Rush back in the day and thought the backing vocals sounded a bit Princely

I've noted it before, but since we're on the topic, her first album Forever Your Girl, had a lot of Prince folks on it. Jesse & Ta Mara wrote a song on there. Oliver Lieber produced a lot of it and wrote some of the biggest hits on there. (Oliver is part of fDeluxe aka The Family now, too.) St. Paul played on the record, too. The credits to the first album are stacked in favor of big hits. For me, "The Way That You Love Me", and the first video they did for it, is my favorite.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

That was a good one back in the day...and the Rebel without a Cause inspired video was pretty good too...

Always thought Promise Of A New Day had that Prince sound, like it could have been something off the Martika album, but he nor jimmy jam and crew had anything to do with it. Love that soing though.

I can hear that, but to me it sounded more like a George Michael track.
