Yeah, I read this earlier. He didn't have much home training. Or sometimes you try and it goes in one ear and out the other... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Me, too! My kids told me (after they were grown, of course) that when they were younger and outside playing, if they could hear Prince from 3 houses away, they wouldn't come home because they knew I was cleaning and would have put them to work too! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

That's funny, because I do the same thing when I'm cleaning, play music, Prince mostly, and my kids (grown now) used to tell me that they could always tell when I was cleaning, because I had the music going.

Interestingly, Andre Cymone suggested in a radio interview last year that one specific reason Prince sought to leave his mom/step fathers home was his refusal to perform mundane household chores his stepdad demanded, preferring to focus on music -- a less romantic reason than what is typically reported...

. It may have been due to the big clash between P and the stepdad. I don't think he was treated well by either "dad". . Andre's mother said P was a good boy who helped with rhe chores, including mopping. . EDIT How come typos don't show up until after you post? My autocorrect changed mopping to mooing. I doubt Bernadette asked Prince to moo. . . . [Edited 4/22/17 20:42pm] [Edited 4/22/17 20:43pm] Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

and Yet...Andre has also said that Princes side of the Room was meticulous where as his own side was a Mess...
maybe Prince objected to being asked to contribute to household chores other than his own When Andre clearly did LESS ?

He said his stepfather had him pulling dadeloins out of the grass which he felt was stupid. I just think he did not like his stepfather and decided not to listen to him.
My guess is with the washing machine that Mrs. Anderson or some women did stuff for him.

If it is true that Prince was pulling dandelions as some kind of punishment, then yes, that is stupid. It would take you all day to put every dandelion out of a yard.

Interesting comment within the linked article, speaking about Jesse's performance: "It was unfocused and often unformed, with large breaks between songs as he often visited a tent at the side of the stage. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

I remember an interview he did with the Original 7 and he could barely sit still in his seat. Very jumpy and was constanly cutting Morris off during the interview.

Ease up, now. It doesn't follow that because he kept his possessions in order that he knew how to load a dishwasher properly or that you generall separate colors. You have to be taught these things. And he was a kid at the time. Andre isn't trying to assassinate his character here, he's just relating a funny story where Prince didn't know how to do something when he was a kid. So what? I'm pretty sure he figured it out at some point. I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.

I don't use herbicides and I get my kids to pick the dandelions as soon as they come up so they don't have a chance to go to seed..keeps the neighbours happy and every year we have fewer dandelions BUT not as a punishment

This place always ends up with people making shit up because they want to argue with each other. This is a story Jesse Johnson told about when P was living in the Lake Riley purple house -- and he was not a kid. . There's a video that's even funnier, about how he took the wad of clothes out of the dryer and his pants were like an accordian. . But no one will get it because you have to have a sense of humor. . Actually, I was responding to fourletterwords getting huffy about Andre relating this story. Okay, so I missed that this was actually Prince as an adult, but that's not actually the point -- Andre was just relating a funny story about Prince, and fourletterwords was preparing to get out the pitchfork about it, like Andre was trying to say Prince sauteed infants for breakfast or something. Unless four was being sarcastic, it's an awfully silly thing to be upset about. I read the original post and just snorted, like, okay he couldn't do laundry or load a dishwasher. Whatever. Haha. I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.
