Boy does this bring back memories. I read in an article way back when that P liked this movie, Idolmaker, so I searched for it and several years later found it at Blockbuster Video.
When I finally saw it alot became pretty clear to me about his performance and stuff. Lol

I have no proof, but the lead singer form Foxy had to be an influence on his Prince's 1979-1980 era performance and look. | |

What a wonderful thread. Did anyone already mention Mick Jagger/The Rolling Stones? I don't know how much of an influence it was on his music but he did go through his Andreas Vollenweider (sp?) phase in the late 80s.

Yeah, so many diverse threads in his work. I listen to pretty much everything now, and it can all be traced back to discovering Prince as a 12/13 year old. My first love. | |

There should probably be some Blues represented here. Did he ever mention any specific blues artists as a particular influence? I'll just add a couple of favourites – they’re present in his music in any case.
