Well, the cd2 is - more or less - useless.
The cd3 is interesting but... Roadhouse Garden... Wonderful Ass...
I was still waiting for the Revolution's Roadhouse Garden with Roadhouse Garden, Wonderful Ass, All My Dreams, Splash, Witness 4 the Prosecution... I fear WB is putting together tracks here and there without a coherent plan (like the poor Moonbeam Levels alone in the hits cds). |

I'm not buying this as the final tracklist. For example, re CD2, where's the extended version of Let's Go Crazy? Sure, it's on CD, but it's more notable having that in there than many of the single edits, hence an odd omission.
No long version of 17 Days.
I'll still get this, but considering the amount of alternate versions and unreleased tracks from this period, this is bollocks.
Warner Bros just filed a copyright claim against the original post, so they obviously don't think it's bollocks.
Given that somebody's job was to register these songs with the royalty database, and it appeared under the official Warner Music account, you can think that it's bollocks if you like.
But I know that it's not |

Version is known in some collector´s circles, but it´s unheard in the remastered quality that wil be on this Purple Rain set. You will "re-discover" the song, no doubt! |

Well, I still believe that Prince had a hand in this release, and WB may have compromised on a number of things with him.
How Prince approved including "We Can Fuck" is beyond me, though.

It's worth noting that in the Variety article, "a rep for Warner Bros., which is releasing the album, had not responded to Variety’s request for comment or confirmation. However, a source close to the situation confirmed the tracklist’s general accuracy".
I stress general, which could mean that the track listing for CD1 is spot on...
I mean, all the single edits, excluding B sides, could be on CD1. |

Oh, I was looking at the Variety article.
Can somebody just leak the long version of 17 Days and let us all out of our misery? I have an unreleased cover of Head by Alvin & The Chipmunks that I can trade with. |

Extended LGC is on there. Look again.
Once again - these are all the tracks officially registered by Warner Bros for a June release, with the royalty collections agencies. There's nothing to dispute here. I can provide the ISRC codes for every single song.

I think the confusion over the inclusion of Let's Go Crazy dance mix stems from Variety missing it from your original image, Militant. It's still missing on their site.

Yes, We Can Fuck and Wonderful Ass make me doubt he had much involvement apart from Disc 1 PP 2015 Remaster. But then I guess you have to wonder how they got Disc 3 'From The Vault' so fuck knows... |

Here it is, in plain text:
Disc 1: Original album, 2015 Paisley Park remaster
Disc 2: Edits & extended mixes
- When Doves Cry (7” single edit)
- 17 Days (single edit)
- Let’s Go Crazy (single edit)
- Erotic City (single edit)
- Purple Rain (single edit)
- God (single edit)
- God (Love Theme From Purple Rain) (instrumental)
- Another Lonely Christmas (single edit)
- I Would Die 4 U (single edit)
- Baby I’m a Star (single edit)
- Take Me With U (single edit)
- Let's Go Crazy ( Special Dance Mix)
- Erotic City (extended version)
- Another Lonely Christmas (extended version)
- I Would Die 4 U (extended version)
Disc 3: From the Vault
- The Dance Electric (11:29)
- Love and Sex (5:00)
- Computer Blue (“Hallway Speech” version) (12:18)
- Velvet Kitty Cat (2:32)
- Katrina’s Paper Dolls (3:30)
- We Can F— (10:17)
- Electric Intercourse (studio version) (4:57)
- Our Destiny / Roadhouse Garden (6:25)
- Possessed (7:56)
- Wonderful A— (6:24)
- Father’s Song (5:30)
Certainly agree with everyone that disk 2 is unnecessary, but disk 3 looks worth the price of admission, whatever that will be.
[Edited 4/19/17 14:10pm]
Eh... I don't hink the 2nd disc is a waste. It has all the singles, all the related 12 inch versions and 12 inch b-sides. This release needed those things.
You know they are just holding off for 5 years down the line when they do an "ULTIMATE EDITION" Purple Rain with 12 discs and a bunch of video.
You know what I really want as a fan and as a musican? Stems. I want to be able to listen to each of the tracks from the 24 track tape of, say, The Beautiful Ones individually. Just for my own learning! It's my fantasy!

Not a silly question at all.
So this is the order that the songs are registered in, sequentially.
Doesn't mean for sure it's the same sequence on the album, but seems likely - after all, the WB employee tasked with registering the songs would likely have been sent them in the right order.

Last night, I got a tip from an industry insider that Warner Bros had registered all the tracks for Purple Rain Deluxe. As a songwriter myself with registered works, I have access to these databases - after following the lead wediscovered the following registrations - all recently registered by Warners marked with a 2017 release date and with full ISRC codes (These codes are used to identify released works across platforms).
So, without further ado here it is! Exclusive information about the forthcoming long-awaited Prince release, PURPLE RAIN DELUXE, to be released in June! Please feel free share this information across the whole Purple Family - all I ask is that you follow my facebook page ( The Violet Reality) and repost the included image.
Please note - this is not necessarily the final order of tracks - and it's also possible (though unlikely) that there are other tracks not registered yet. Also worth noting - we've yet to hear anything about the accompanying live video DVDs.
Whoa, thanx Militant. You really came through on bringing this info. Any word on the concert dvds? |

Wow......they need their asses whipped for this.
This is a MAJOR letdown.
Who the hell needs a disk of 7" edits?
Where is the list of songs from the other artists that appeared on the movie?
There is only 1 song on the Prince Disk 3 that we don't already have.
What a letdown.
This was a Purple Rain remaster for the masses. Master versions of these songs are perfect, especially disc 3 The Dance Electric, studio version of Electric Intercourse, I doubt if everyone has Love & Sex,
who has Velvet Kitty Katt and Katrina's Paper Dolls, a remastered We Can Fuck, Our Destiny Roadhouse Garden and Father's Song...
Maybe U all have great versions of those but I don't most do
