New topic PrintableSingle edits are officially released tracks, may as well include them, some people collect these obsessively. Obviously not at the cost of new tracks but its purple frickin rain, they can afford to splash out on another CD!

So Wonderful Ass will be the '83 version without Wendy and Lisa? That should definitely be interesting, I've never heard it.
And where are the two concerts? Can we assume that they will be released on DVD if they haven't been registered as songs?
Also, that's a much longer Father's Song than I've heard. Very good. Disc 3 looks impressive, everything and more I wanted with the exception of G-Spot.

I get that most people won't have the D3 material.
D2 is a complete waste of time.
So far WB is is zero for 2 in my book. I won't be buying this. I was looking forward to it until I saw this list.

I wouldn't assume anything until it's officially announced.

The live material is probably the lasy Syracuse show that was relased on Laserdisk and the 1984 Birthday show. (just a guess) FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

I'm betting it's the previously released Syracuse show, and the August 3, 1983 First Avenue show.

Hi guys,
just to clear up some of the comments in this thread, which seem to be based on presumptions.
I ask you to have some trust in this post; please be aware that my sources have asked to shed some light on the leaked tracklist:
Father's Song is the full 5 minute, completely unheard, finished studio version. Mixed, mastered, multi-layered keyboard parts and all.
Electric Intercourse is the finished studio version we didn't even knew existed for sure! NOT the 1983 rehearsal.
Possessed is a completely different vocal version than has ever been circulating
Katrina's Paper Dolls is not the known, circulating version
Computer Blue and Dance Electric: the full, mastered, HQ version that always deserved a proper release.
We Can Fuck is the epic 10 minute work-out that no-one has ever heard. Prince´s drumming on this one is right up there with any classic p-funk track you know.
We´re really, literally, talking about Straight From The VAULT material here.
Obviously, it's impossible for me at this moment to submit some form of proof to back up my claim, but all I ask for you is to wait 'till the release is out there before we all pass judgment. If I turn out to be wrong, I´ll be the first to acknowlegde! But I am positive MINDS WILL BE BLOWN!
Also, disc 2 does contain prev.released material, but you will be surprised on the mastering done and sound quality!
For now, patience and best wishes. It´s a tough week for all of us.
Sifi

Great news! I am happy; stop the negativity people!
I'm listening to Deliverance, and have the feeling that Prince is alive and well! I can take on the world!

so why is it taking them forever and a day to release this tracklist? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm actually starting to feel a bit bewildered about this. Disc 2 is completely pointless. I'm going to spend a lot of money in this (I know nobody is forcing me to buy it) and we really aren't getting much for our money. Please, WB notice for future releases: we want extended versions of songs we already have, not edited versions!!!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Let your sources know that Disc 3 is great!

In addition, we can be sure that 1 of the DVD's will contain the Syracuse 1985 show, transferred from the 1" master reel, with restored and remastered audio. Not the Video or Laserdisc you may have...
Be well,

I would love to get that First Ave show with this when they perform the tracks for the first time. I watched it the other night. Can't imagine getting a pristine version. I am still very excited to be finally getting this. And we have to remember they don't wanna blow their load on this first release. Gotta save them goodies. But yeah G-Spot where or where can it be should be on this. 1980-Present

Our Destiny contains Lisa´s vocals / Roadhouse Garden contains Prince´s vocals. Songs go back to back and will be released here as they were done in the studio.

Disc 2 is a total let down and pointless, but I had a feeling the tracklist would be something like this. Disc 3 seems interesting though and looking forward to the studio version of Electric Intercourse [Edited 4/19/17 13:42pm] Welcome 2 The Dawn

Disc 3: From the Vault
Certainly agree with everyone that disk 2 is unnecessary, but disk 3 looks worth the price of admission, whatever that will be.

I know I'll be in the minority here if not the only person who is okay with disc 2. I can see myself listening to it if the tracks were in the order in which the singles were released with the five extended versions at the end. I like single edits and use them most of the times I make compilations for myself. [Edited 4/19/17 14:40pm]

I'm not buying this as the final tracklist. For example, re CD2, where's the extended version of Let's Go Crazy? Sure, it's on CD, but it's more notable having that in there than many of the single edits, hence an odd omission.
No long version of 17 Days.
I'll still get this, but considering the amount of alternate versions and unreleased tracks from this period, this is bollocks.
