I agree with you. Kirk would be the last person to ever talk, and I believe he will not do it. What he knows about Prince, the whole 30 years, I believe he will take to his grave out of respect for Prince and his privacy.

The only talking he will do is what is required for the investigation. That in itself is a completely understandable reason.

After reading some posts and comments, I am inclined now to believe the laughter was out of frustration from the questions asked.

And no doubt just being uncomfortable with all the cameras on him. Sure, he performed with Prince in public venues but this particular instance was all about Kirk. P wasn't there physically in the spotlight getting the attention. Probably nervous as hell with all those eyes just on him. smile

Yes, it was a strange interview. The laughter and his question dismissals makes me think he’s been asked these questions many times before, probably by authorities. IDK. Does anyone here know him personally and well enough to know his mannerisms in situations and in conversation? If we don’t know him, it’s difficult to make a judgement, ‘read’ his body language, and interpret voice inflections to come to a conclusion as to what he might have meant.

.

Did he know the questions that would be asked by CBS? Again, his easy dismissal of the questions also makes me wonder if he did know the questions and this interview was all staged. Why do I think that? My guess he is still getting these questions asked everyday from everyone he meets, especially at PP, so with the 4day celebration coming up, he used the CBS platform to make it known to everyone that he will not answer those questions. Just my take on it, I have no first hand knowledge.

That interview was not only upsetting but terrible!
The media did not tell the truth...the pills were miss labeled and laced with fentanyl. They said Prince was a fentanyl user and made it out to continue with Prince was popping pills, just another musician OD. That is not the case! You would think Kirk would have set that straight instead of laugh.

I agree. My heart goes out to Kirk for the what happened on the 21st. For the record, I am not judging nor accusing him of anything.

Interviewer: "People have so many questions about Prince's last days...and you know..."

Kirk (pointing to his head): "Kirk has a vault...right here...it's never going to be unlocked."

That bothered me far more than the laughter because that sounded to me like "Kirk" KNOWS exactly what the fuck happened, how and why but "Kirk" doesn't intend to reveal it.

That's okay, "Kirk". Because I trust and believe that sooner or later, SOMEBODY is going to have no other choice but to reveal it, come what may!

totally agree..very strange actions & interview. Strongly suspect in years to come when the cash dries up there will be a book. Also...as its an ongoing investigation wont he be called to be cross examined soon?

So far the only person who seem upset about the mislabled pills is Charles. The rest of them say nothing knowing this is a homicide investigation.

You don't know nobody did shit. And I don't know what you mean by your second comment but everyone's grass in Minnesota is brown right now. That's how it looks in March.

some of the things I read (especially on Facebook) are just so depressing and sad...as if the only people who care are "fams" and everyone else allowed him to die or are just trying to make a buck off him now that he's gone. sad

Prince either had a doctor supplying him or one of his friends buying them on street. If the cops figure out who was involved they are looking at jail time. Next..
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

They already ruled out doctor shopping and if someone got something off the street how come we did not see a rash of people dying from laced pills in Minneapolis?

Another good one, justAmeda ;د) Thanks again thumbs up!

To me personally, the drummer's "you get tired after a while…" comment fits logically and neatly with the sister's November '15 "I've done everything that I've come to do" comment.

To me — looking at things from The Big Picture Perspective — considering everything that has been quoted by family members and close confidants over the past year, I intepret their quotes collectively to suggest that Prince was resigned himself to his fate of his well had run dry — so to speak.

That is to say that Prince resigned himself to the inescapable realization that every other 57 year old human being inevitably has to resign themselves to.

For any human 57 year old that has the capability to be honest with themselves, the existential "Nausea" that Sartre writes about will inevitably force them to realize that their best days are behind them.

The sisters' comments and the drummer's comments don't suggest to me any ridiculous "spiritual" hocus-pocus premonition of death. They suggest to me that Prince knew That He Didn't Have It In Him Anymore To Write Groundbreaking Number 1 Hits!.

Probably the most telling thing from the drummer's interview is the obvious fact of him not being charged with any foul play after all this time, supports all my previous "…Don't hold your breath&hellipl" advice that I've given in other threads to quite a few of the more inflexible members in recent months — And you know who you are! Don't you? ;د)

As LR said there was no Dr shopping etc.
This is an ongoing homicide investigation...the media fails Prince every time they speak about him.

His sisters comments along with KJs saying he was tired ...they did not say of what. He could have been tired of dealing with once again WB/ the industry. He put that out there himself on his social media..

The media fails to acknowledge it is a homcide investiagation not sucide. At this point the police have already stated they have persons under investigation. Do people on this board not know what actual people are? These are actual facts that many want to ignore including the media.

Great FB post from Steve Parke: https://www.facebook.com/...7769936601

I had my time and relationship with Prince. So did many others. I respect their right to their perspective and the loss they feel.
I'm not sure why people feel the need to question or hate on them. It has been a horrible year and time for many of us, and I would think we could respect each others feeling and pain rather than speculate and attack. Why compare pain when we can spend our time helping alleviate it in those around us ?
Details will change nothing in any meaningful way.
Life will not rewind and play a different tune in this universe.
Maybe I'm just an optimist who would hope that good can grow from tragedy instead of poison and negativity. We have a pretty short time here, I'd think making it as good as we can would be our goal.
Shared loss can be a place to start.
Can we try that please?

… And a few other things the drummer's interview notably doesn't suggest

  • he doesn't suggest that Prince had cancer

  • he doesn't suggest that Prince had "The Big Disease With The Little Name"

  • he doesn't suggest that Prince had any "internal organ damage"

  • he doesn't suggest that Prince was in the pre-op stages of gender reassignment

The drummer's “We danced a lot. I mean, I feel the effects of dancing. You know, your joints get, you know, hurt” comment does lend creedence to the "pain pills more than likely used for chronic pain caused by years of extreme dance moves" theory proffered by other former band members.

Just like in music — a lot of the time, it is what is not said, that's gives a piece its power. Give the drummer some, yall! ;د)

Don't let this "Kirk's all about P's Legacy" BS blind you. Some continue to see the world through "purple" tinted glasses. You can bet your bottom dollar, the ONLY 2 reasons Kirk will not "unlock his vault" (at this moment) and spill the beans are:

1. The gravy train is still operating and his paychecks from PP are continually being cut

2. He IS under investigation and MAY not be able to discuss the case.

Does anyone on this board know for a fact whether or not a "gag order" is in place?

I liked his shirt.

I think right now it's pointless to interview people who are under investigation, what can they really say on camera that won't end up hurting them until everything is closed?

The chuckle didn't seem all that disturbing to me, maybe because I went in expecting some manic laughter as oppose to that and him saying "next".

Chazz sure love to get his moments in front of the camera.
