5 Prince Revolution stories...

Thank you! I want to read every story I can find of my favorite band all time Revolution. That is cool how Prince gave Wendy a birthday party and also the Joni Mitchell story.
I wish the public knows more about Prince's sense of humor outside his music and his practical jokes.
Even though its not in this article, I love of Brownmark said Prince left him strand for 45 minutes when he show up late to get on that tour bus and then he came back and got him. The fans were saying, Prince and the crew left him. I would been scare if that happened to me.
I heard Lisa story before. And she added more details. Prince had his mood swings and it look like he was mad about something and Lisa was the target, so that must explained why she was confused by what she did to made him mad.
See that is the stuff I want to hear more. [Edited 3/20/17 14:29pm]

These are just great stories! But the last one, of which we had heard a more brief origin story before, and also the song happens to be one of my favorite Prince bootleg gems... well that is so deep to me about what was great about his creative powers. The pancake story for Brownmark is funny. But this one struck me most: Lisa Coleman “So after our talk, I went for a walk to think about what had happened. I walked to the center of the town to get a beer — there was only one bar. A few minutes latter, Don Batts, Prince’s musical tech guy, came into the bar. He came over to me and said, ‘Prince wants to talk to you. He feels bad.’ So I went back to the house. Prince was down in the basement in the studio. He came came out, gestured to me to come into the studio, and said, ‘I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings. I wrote you a song.’ In that short time — I’d only been gone an hour or two — Prince had written and recorded a song as an apology to me. It was called ‘A Strange Way of Sayin...ve You.’ I was stunned. Music was always how he communicated best.”

Wendy didn't always bash Prince. She just talked a little smack every once in a while for his own good. LOL.

I don't think Wendy based him at all. She told the truth. Once, she said that Prince had tried to tell them to stop talking about stuff, and she told him "Hey dude, this is our life, too. We can't just not talk about what we did." She also said they thought Prince had finally just thrown his arms up to it, because he figured out he couldn't shut the up 24/7. There's no reason W&L would ever have long term or a lot of animosity toward him. It was Prince sorta nitpicking with their interviews, sending them cease and desist letters over calling him a "fancy lesbian" that probably caused a few words here or there, just in rebellion or frustration perhaps. Hell, he could have answered that "fancy lesbian" thing by dedicating "Bambi" to them in his next show. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Cool stuff! It's interesting to hear that Prince had a real friendship with his musical heroine, Joni Mitchell. It is a unique kind of perspective to hear some bandmates' stories of interactions with him in their teens and early twenties--such an influential time to be together. Sounds like their experiences were strung with hijinks, laughter, and even heartfelt adoration--it must have kept them all loose enough to produce good music together.
