Take It With A Huge Grain Of Salt: Purple Rain Deluxe Tracklist So my wife's good highschool friend works in LA for Warner Bros. Music. He knows I am a HUGE Prince fan. Late last night He sent her an email: "Tell XXXXX that I saw in a shared drive we all share a document of a 'working' track list for the upcoming Purple Rain rerelease. This is hot buzz around here. LOTs of attention. Very hush hush. Looks like disc 4 is the 1983 benfit concert and disc 5 is the released Purple Rain Syracuse concert with Sheila E's set added.
But are discs 4 and 5 audio or videos? | |

Album # 5 would have to be a DVD; no way you could fit all of that on one CD or we'd have to be talking about "albums 5 & 6."

This is more than a grain of salt. Good package. Bravo to those involved. Now give us. Asuper deluxe edition with the birthday show and some outtakes and deleted scenes from the movie and we are good. | |

WHEN DOVES CRY ALTERNATE take = Is this the initial version with bass or something else? A demo version of Purple rain would have been cool.....and alternate takes of Darling Nikki and Beautiful ones too....but anyway we are speculating....so? | |

that's still just 1 album of unreleased music, not 2. so that's something to think about i guess and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

This would be alright, I guess. Quite a few songs I don't know, a few expected ones. And until I am proven wrong I will expect The Bird, Jungle Love, Modernaire and Sex Shooter to have Prince in vocals (although I assume they won't). It's bizarre that Possessed is not there, though. | |

Fake tracklists are par for the course so don't put too much stock in this. Also - if neither "Possessed" or "Katrina's Paper Dolls" are on here then that's a real missed opportunity. I wonder whether this really will be the same set that Prince submitted. I was told it was - but that was so long ago that everything may have changed since then. |
