Best Prince related purchases recently...What about yours?

Downloaded the New Girl episode onto Amazon. I got kind of moved watching it again. He played shy prince, but he played it with warmth and self-mocking humor. Loved it. The whole episode was cute BTW

Received the Sign of the Times album in the mail. So glad I bought it on vinyl; it sounded great and so much better than the songs from that record that I have heard in CD form. So much fun listening to it. I want to buy LoveSexy (I won't buy it on CD due to the fact that I can't skip around) but it was pricey on Amazon unless I got it in a rather used condition.

I feel guilty but I bought some early bootlegs. I got tired of waiting for the estate to release music.

That must be the Piano & Microphone tourbook. A friend of mine in the US ordered one for me through Funk 4U months ago, but due to the inventory issues it took a while before he received it. 2-3 weeks ago I was able to collect it from his mother's house and pay for it. I can tell you that was "a moment" for me.

André, thanks again for that one!!!!!

Trying to bog down all the vinyls. Wasn't interested in them before, I preferred CD's and digital, but I'm now on a mission to get all the vinyls. I recently bought the 3 disk movie deluxe and I must say I love the quality of Purple Rain now. It even looks better than when I saw it in the theater after his passing.

Why pay for bootlegs? Plenty of places to find them online for free.

Right after he died I got a deep purple t-shirt with a multi-colored symbol. I tried to paste it here but haven't been able to do so do toe technical difficulties (probably my brain wink ). I never have had so many compliments on a shirt of mine, even from non-fans.

Best musical purchases by far have been the Atlanta piano and mic show and the Blast from the Past collection. The latter has just been a constant joy, especially making so many different playlists for different occasions. I am just astounded by how many good to great unreleased songs are included. Even the average songs are worth hearing multiple times.

Dear djThunderfunk, great question. I have an aging computer with a security system that makes it hard to download music. I'd be better off taking the money spent on bootlegs and investing into a new computer - but it is fun getting those little packages from Europe.

I really hope the estate gets through the legal morass soon but sadly I think it will be a long time.

The Family album on CD in a second hand store for less than 10 euro. Or, from the same shop, Emancipation for 4.99 a few weeks later. You may or may not like either album but you can't deny that the price was right! Granted, neither purchase was all that recent, maybe about 3 years ago, but they are pretty much the most recent Prince purchases I've made, excluding the HitnRun albums.

I'm going to Paisley Park in July, so I'm having a Prince charm bracelet made. I'll post a picture when it arrives. I'm also getting a silver love symbol necklace made. Since Prince's death I've bought numerous books, magazines and CDs.

SweetKathleen

Since his death, I have bought many Prince albums on CD and also received some as gifts. Most were albums that I had before but were on cassettes (not very good quality by this time) and/or were albums that had gone missing over time. It was great listening to them again but the ones I enjoyed most were two that I had never owned before. The Hits/B Sides....love the B Sides....really helped get me through the initial intense grief. But more recently got The Vault OFFS and am just enjoying it so so much!

At the moment, there are 4 albums I would like to buy (Xpectation, Gold Experience, Crystal Ball and NEWS) but they don't seem to be available or are too expensive. I am hoping maybe the estate will re-issue these at some point.

I miss you my friend --jj, me, and many others

Since he passed, I purchased PR,UTCM and GB. I also bought these adorable earrings with P's face on it. This year I added another DVD to my collection titled "Prince In His Own Words" with numerous interviews from the 90's - early 2000's. I've just recently purchased a P shirt with his pic from "Parade" and I have yet to wear it. I also plan on having more P shirts customized with pictures I have saved. So excited about my cute mini collection biggrin

I was just checking that site out, I'll definitely be making a purchase in the future. I love incense, and burning some of his favorite fragrances such as Lavender will make it feel like he's here with us even more smile
