Never understood the dislike for Arms of Orion on here, I think it's a beautiful song. In fact, I think the entire Batman Album is underrated. I personally love the muscular, dark funk on that album.

Diamonds and Pearls definitely has some suspect songs on it.

And 7 is one of my favorite Prince songs, I think it deserves at least a 9.

Thanks for doing this, it's cool to hear someone else's views on his songs!

My mother list shows some declining marks in this era, Lovesexy capped his golden period, but you will see there were still some standout songs amongst the filler and dross.

These eras are what I like to call his "wilderness period" lol. Some definite gems scattered throughout these albums, but it's a vastly inconsistent period of output compared to 80-88.

Batman: this album overall is very stale imo

1. The Future - 7/10

2. Electric Chair - 8/10

3. The Arms of Orion - 6/10

4. Partyman - 7.5/10

5. Vicki Waiting - 8/10

6. Trust - 6.5/10

7. Lemon Crush - 4/10

8. Scandolous - 6.5/10

9. Batdance - 7.5/10 ( the guitar solo absolutely slays tho)

Overall: 6.7/10

Graffiti Bridge - A mixed bag, the P tracks are the only things worth attention. A bit more interesting than Batman imo

17. NPG pt. 2 - 2/10 (f'n pointless imo)

Overall: 6.7/10 - the non P tracks really hold this joint down

Diamonds and Pearls - Commercial Bliss

1. Thunder - 8/10

3. D&P - 9/10 (beautiful pure pop ballad bliss)

4. Cream - 7.5/10

5. Strollin' - 9/10 (falsetto perfection)

6. Willing and Able - 7/10

9. Jughead - 7/10 (this is so marginalized its unfair. Stupid funky fun)

Overall: 8/10 (P treated this as his commercial comeback post Lovesexy and goddammit he nailed it)

prince - superior, more experimental sequel to D&P. The ballads on this are freakin beautiful.

3. Love 2 the 9's - 9/10 (damn near perfect track, cut out the silly mid song rapping stuff)

10. The Continental - 8.5/10
