Just like The Question of U or Damn U or Sexy MF... And it's pretty hard for the album version to live up to the concert version... You should try n find it, and Gold. Early versions have less production and infamously no cowbell on Endorphin

Original didn't have the cowbell which is on the released version That's right, a much harder aggressive sound, more guitar playing the main riff, less keys. Well worth seeking out 😎 and yes you're right about seeing it live, I remember the first of the three shows I went to in 1995, Manchester GMex, when he came out and opened with it, the bass drum just punched you in the guts, amazing....

There is also a live version with the piano from the movie and vocals (very different from the Crystal Ball vocals), so there probably is an unreleased studio version.

This one. Old Friends 4 Sale, one of his very best, what a crime what he did with the lyrics. SRS with the sitars sounds much better. Feel U Up the other version sounds darker and sinister, but i wouldn't say is better, althoungh i'm not sure. The same with Irrsesistible Bitch.

Mine as well. And again, i don't know about being better, i'm grateful we have both of them. That piano version, though.

Feel U Up...original version pulsates with hypnotic energy.

Yes, that’s the one that immediately springs to my mind. I don’t dislike the later version, just night and day.

Mazarati's Jerk Out keeps knocking me out whenever I hear it! that beat just pounds hard! I love that one. In a Large Room with No Light and Extra Lovable are so amazingly awesome compared to the released ones. My favorites, even though the released version are also great are Feel U Up/Irresistible Bitch.

I would love a full score release of Under The Cherry Moon.

Interesting that the mojority of the tracks mentioned are Warners releases. I wonder how much input they had in trying to make the tracks more commercial.
I think in most cases (and from peoples responses) it seems to me like stuff wass being over produced and most fans prefer more of a raw feel.
This definately seems to happen more with integration of technology in his music with some of the more recent stuff sounding a bit too synthetic and clean, particularly in the GB era.

We Can Funk is THE one for me. The 86 version is one his best tracks released or unreleased. The one on GB is ok...but a bit of a mess.
Also Tick Tick Bang and Old Friends 4 Sale.
I actually like the released version of Extralovable more than the original.

Totally agree.
Empty room would be my second choice

Completely agree, love that version.

I haven't listened that song, like... ever.

I hadn't looked close enough until recently, but Graffiti Bridge is largly a meld of dusted off vault tracks. I love it, but some songs were updated better than others.

Are there any unreleased songs that are completely different from the released versions? "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Yeah this is a great one, I don't actually pay attention to it often (in fact I had completely forgotten about it until OldFriends4Sale mentioned it earlier in this thread), probably partly because of the pretty dodgy lyrics, but man that groove is just fucking incredible, so much freakier than the The Time version (which is still pretty damn good but feels rather overproduced in comparison.) Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...
